I grew up in San Diego and have lived in several areas as an adult, before moving to Texas. I visit family in San Diego yearly. If you're a multi-millionaire or have at least $400K income and don't mind grinding traffic, then it's a great place. If you're middle or upper middle class, it sucks. Not the weather. That's perfect. And there are endless things to do! So, it is a good city but not everybody that lives there is having a nice life. It's extremely expensive. White collar folks live in $800 shacks, basically. Property crime is high. But the weather is perfect, you'll never ever be board and the coast is very scenic. Good luck! Nice place to visit, but wouldn't want to live there (any more).
San Diego is an incredible city, with a little bit of something for everyone! I am a San Diego native, having lived here all 29 years of my life. I grew up in Encinitas, which is a charming beach town in north county San Diego, with lots of beautiful beaches, scenic hikes and excellent restaurants/bars. There are a number of excellent year round outside activities available to a San Diegan like surfing, beach volleyball, hikes, dog parks, fishing, parasailing and so much more!
The night life is great and diverse as Pacific Beach sports wild and crazy clubs/bars packed with people, while Ocean Beach and North County offer quieter breweries and speak easy's that are a little more lowkey. The one thing I do not like about San Diego is the cost of living, as rent, gas, groceries and general living expenses are some of the highest in the country! So be sure to get a good job if you plan on living here. Overall 9/10 would recommend to anyone!

My San Diego experience has been AMAZING! The opportunities that SD provides is top tier. It includes nightlife activities for the grown-ups in the Gaslamp Quarter, an expansive selection for the foodies, and family friendly destinations like the San Diego Zoo.
