Their last.fm bio (not updated since 2010):

Waterface was a band from Phoenix Arizona that formed out of the ashes of the band Grey Daze. Grey Daze was a band that was originally fronted by now Linkin Park Vocalist Chester Bennington. In short Chester had left the band (GD), and was replaced by female vocalist Jodi Wendt from Woodbine Iowa. A week after Jodi filling the vocalist spot, the original bassist (Mace Beyers) was replaced by Dave Sardegna (96 Decibel Freaks, Orange County California band signed to RVR in the mid 90s).

The new line up consisting of original Grey Daze members Bobby Bennish and Sean Dowdell continued to play under the Grey Daze moniker for about 6 months. They had relized with the new members and now a female vocalist that the band was no longer Grey Daze, and took a few months to write new material and changed their name to Waterface. Prior to signing their deal with Aezra Records Bobby had left the band and guitarists, Oscar Betancourth and Randy Martinez where added. Although the majority of their material on the Seven Days album was writen with Bobby in the band, Oscar and Randy recorded the record.

The band was signed in 1999 and disbanded in 2001. Prior to the bands first national club tour drummer Sean Dowdell was no longer a member and Jay Ramirez filled the drumming spot. Some believe that Chester Bennington was a member of Waterface at one time, which is actually false. Chester never sang in the band Waterface. Bobby Bennish later passed away, Sean Dowdell owns Club Tattoo in Phoenix with his wife Thora and Chester Bennington. Jodi Wendt and Dave Sardegna own Oz Tattoo in Harlan Iowa. Oscar Betancourth and Randy Martinez have not been heard from since. Sean Dowdell plays drums in Chester Bennington's project "Bucket of Weenies", While Jodi Wendt and Dave Sardegna play in "SistamattiX".
