      Critics Consensus

Despite the best efforts of a talented cast, The Other Man is talky, witless, and tension-free.

David Fear Time Out Rated: 2/5 Nov 17, 2011 Full Review Roger Moore Orlando Sentinel Neeson, in particular, has to rumble through the movie behaving in a way consistent with the ending and comes off as far over the top in the process. Oct 7, 2009 Full Review Amy Biancolli Houston Chronicle The result is B-grade cheese. The only genuine mystery, for me, is why such a fine cast signed on for such a witless movie. Rated: 1/4 Sep 25, 2009 Full Review Alex Lindsey Jones Moviedex A manipulative bore of a film. Liam Neeson is better than this and so are you. Rated: 1/5 Oct 24, 2010 Full Review David Cornelius DVDTalk.com A good character study lost in the haze of bad thriller gimmickry. Rated: 2.5/5 Jan 11, 2010 Full Review Brian Orndorf DVDTalk.com Strangely inhospitable, perhaps better appreciated three margaritas into a Sunday afternoon Lifetime film festival than a critical Friday night rental. jelisije j A man finds out his wife of 25 years has been cheating on him and he goes into the other mans life and ultimately decides what will be this other mans fate... I made it sound better then the movie actually was. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member It's okay, it's alright. I waited for something big to happen, and it very mildly did. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/20/23 Full Review Audience Member Disgrace for Liam Neeson and other actors. Should've watched Taken or Unknown again. Waste of time. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/04/23 Full Review Audience Member A very tension-free and forgettable thriller that is inexplicably steered by an all-star cast that should have never wasted their time on such a ho-hum dollar bin film. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/20/23 Full Review Audience Member Funny how everyone's getting bent out of shape over this movie. What did it do to you? Certainly not the best film but certainly not the worst. But consider if you spent 25 years or more with a woman, and then after she dies you find out she's had an affair, what do you do? You're emotionally distraught and dead inside from the loss, and to add to the pain, there's the affair, so to occupy your time, and as a distraction, you visit the lover to see what it's all about, only to find out the guy is a complete loser. Well, that doesn't help, but you do get some closure. And on the bright side because he's so pathetic, he actually provides some comic relief for you and your daughter. Life is strange, to say the least. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/03/23 Full Review Audience Member It only got a half of star because I couldn't give it 0 stars. Horrible movie. I rate it, F- Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 12/27/19 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
