We finally decided to dine out at a restaurant for dinner after spending months cooking at home. Mandarin Yonge Street provided us with an extremely safe dining experience. Cutlery was brought to our table in wrapped in sealed cellophane bags and a brown paper bag...to put your mask. The small bites priced between $1.99 - $4.99 were freshly cooked to order and brought to the table in covered trays hot and delicious. Tables were space well over the 6” required. We definitely felt safe and look forward to returning for our next dinner. Staff and service were outstanding.More

Last night we tried Mandarin's new dining experience Small Eats and really enjoyed it. The food was fresh, delicious and hot and beautifully presented-kudos to Mae the chef. You can take home any leftovers. It was great to see Paddy and Penny and the other...friendly staff. The tables are well spaced and lots of hand sanitizer. It was a very enjoyable experience during these stressful times. Give it a try-you won't be disappointed.More

We happened to go just after they opened for the Lunch Buffet. Everything was fully stocked. The food was warm+ and of good quality. The restaurant was busy and as we went for a second plate I noticed almost all the dishes had been replenished....It offers so many choices, even breakfast options. We were also very pleased with all of the service from the greeting at the entrance to our waiters. The moist warm towel for clean-up at the end was a nice touch. Overall a very nice experience.More

The presentation of the food was outstanding!! I noted the staff behind each food venue were constantly checking to see if a customer needed anything. We didn't. It was so well done and executed. From the moment we got there as a group of 12,...we felt taken care of and made to feel welcome. You can say, " Well, it was just a buffet and we serve ourselves." It was more than that...I felt pride coming from the individuals that wanted to make it nice for us. Myself and my gal pals witnessed the work of precision and perfection. Thank you to Jenn and her colleague for filling our water glasses every time. Thank you for making our April babies celebrate their birthdays feeling special. We will be back. Once the food arrived, it was what I'd expect from Mandarin. However, we were told it would arrive in 55-65 minutes and it took 95 minutes. That was too long for our hungry crowd to wait. Don't know if this was the fault of Mandarin...or SkipTheDishes, but since Mandarin has decided to use them as their delivery, I'll write the review here.More

Toronto is home to incredible asian restaurants so why go here to eatfake chinese food. I guess if you are a big eater it is for you. Everything is fatty and high in calories. It is over priced and service is terrible.

Back to visit family in Toronto, we always visit Mandarin as our daughters love it and always have; we do not have anything like this in the UK. Post Covid there seems to be slightly less choice but having said that, the food was good...and the service as always excellent. We will be back.More

Mandarin is really disgusting if you find a mouse on the tables, think about the kitchen and the food you will eat. It’s happened on Mother’s Day 2018.

I've eaten here before and find that the buffet is good (okay) but nothing exceptional. Like most buffets a lot of the food is overcooked as it sits in the tray until patrons scoop it up. All the best items are taken quickly and it...often takes a long time for the staff to replace it. Unless your a senior, I think its overpriced. Service is polite and efficient.More

They have stopped serving crab legs on weekends. The price has dropped to $28.99, however it all just tastes the same without 3 or 4 pieces of crab to make it a special dinner. $65.52 for a 2 older people before tip ( 2 buffets...and water), is a bit much for an older couple just shy of the seniors discount. There are many other options close by where we can dine for much less. Does everybody really need 2 or 3 plates of food that all tastes the same?More

We had a reservation for 4 people for Christmas Day 11:45am (which is when they open), booked 2 months prior. We had to have a very early lunch as my son had to be at work by 4pm and the location he works is 2.5hrs...north of Toronto. They opened late, and there were so many people crowded around the entrance (with and without reservations), and some already angry as no information why the doors were still closed at 11:45am. When they did open, people rushed in and within half an hour, a number of the dishes at the buffet were empty and not being refilled timeously. (I was surprised how many 'small' sized bowls they used for serving, yet they are a large establishment so you'd think they would put our quantities that more adequately meet the number of people looking for service. The table staff were excellent though - I felt badly for them that their management was so disorganised as I'm sure it made it stressful for the staff. It seems this location was incredibly unprepared for Christmas Day, and our experience was disappointing and stressful as a result. We won't be back.More

Sadly at the time that we arrive, the hostess at the entrance was really rude, we were in vacations in Toronto visiting family and a few of us were taking pictures at the entrance, the hostess said we had to hurry or we would not...have a table, while being seated, she says that we would have the table until 7:15 pm and no more! I was like what? (It was around 5:30 pm) Anyway, I had to ask for the manager explained what happened and she only offered an apology, I insisted she had to talk to her personal to avoid this from happening again!!! Nobody should go through an experience like this in a restaurant. It really was a terrible experience!More

It's westernized over-breading "Chinese" food. You can probably find same/similar food at food courts under DT office buildings.

I came here for dinner with family. I was very satisfied with the food and the choices. The staff and the managers checked in with us from time to time. They had very good service. At the end of the meal, they offered us chances...to win free trips to China (we needed to let them stamp these “passports” and put them into a draw), saying it was part of their anniversary celebration giveaways. This restaurant isn’t very visible from the outside because you have to go into a building and up the stairs to get there (it is next to a cinema.) But it is definitely a hidden gem in the area for those who are new to Yonge and Eglinton or aren’t as familiar with it. It’s actually been around for a long time and I guess for good reasons. I would highly recommend this place and look forward to returning another time!More

A couple of weeks ago a friend and myself went to the Mandarin for dinner. I find the food grease that are in the sauces. By the time you get back to your table the food is cold. The deserts suck. What really turned me...off this time was the person who seat us when we told her that it was 2 seniors, she ask for ID. You could see that my friend was over 60. There is another buffet called the Dragon Pearl, The food is much better and the decor and the variety is much better then the Mandarin.More

The south street of Eglinton westbound there is an spiral entrance 70 metres from Yonge st. It will take you to the roof of the building. Take the parking ticket to Mandarin. That will stamp it for a courtesy parking.
