#1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER

The seven-time #1 New York Times bestselling author, Fox News star, and radio host Mark R. Levin explains how the dangers he warned against in the “timely yet timeless” (David Limbaugh, author of Jesus Is Risen) bestseller Liberty and Tyranny have come to pass.

In 2009, Mark R. Levin galvanized conservatives with his unforgettable manifesto
Liberty and Tyranny, by providing a philosophical, historical, and practical framework for halting the liberal assault on Constitution-based values. That book was about standing at the precipice of progressivism’s threat to our freedom and now, over a decade later, we’re fully over that precipice and paying the price.

In
American Marxism, Levin explains how the core elements of Marxist ideology are now pervasive in American society and culture—from our schools, the press, and corporations, to Hollywood, the Democratic Party, and the Biden presidency—and how it is often cloaked in deceptive labels like “progressivism,” “democratic socialism,” “social activism,” and more. With his characteristic trenchant analysis, Levin digs into the psychology and tactics of these movements, the widespread brainwashing of students, the anti-American purposes of Critical Race Theory and the Green New Deal, and the escalation of repression and censorship to silence opposing voices and enforce conformity. Levin exposes many of the institutions, intellectuals, scholars, and activists who are leading this revolution, and provides us with some answers and ideas on how to confront them.

As Levin writes: “The counter-revolution to the American Revolution is in full force. And it can no longer be dismissed or ignored for it is devouring our society and culture, swirling around our everyday lives, and ubiquitous in our politics, schools, media, and entertainment.” And, like before, Levin seeks to rally the American people to defend their liberty.

Review

“As usual, Mark Levin pulls no punches. . . . American Marxism is, without question, a very important and valuable book. It is exactly the right book at the right time.” —The American Spectator

“In
American Marxism, Mark Levin paints a bleak picture of an America under siege, but he offers hope that we can turn this around and inspires us to unite around the noble cause of liberty and the salvation of the greatest nation the world has ever known.” —David Limbaugh, Townhall

“A” for IDEAS. “C” for WARMTH.
Levin scores point after point. His research is sound. His footnotes provide a solid foundation. But the discussion drags. The problem: Levin's rambling prose. His superfluous phrases. His interminable run-on sentences. Levin emulates the monotonous writing style of the academic Marxists whom he aptly skewers. Why? He desperately needs a relentless style editor, with a mind for syntax.Levin must junk his stale, pedagogic style and adopt a journalistic tone. Next, Levin must borrow a page from his nemesis, the theatrical Saul Alinsky: Levin must rediscover his fiery, on-air radio voice. We listeners appreciate the passion, the sincerity, and the terseness. In this book, he loses the terseness. Result: His long-winded prose smothers his passion, and overshadows his sincerity. Levin should have dictated this book, instead of drafting it on a legal pad or computer.Next time, Mark: Stand up! Slam down your fist! Throw sparks! But for American Marxism, thanks, and four stars. I look forward to that next barnburner.Example of how a style editor could have improved the book...[FROM P. 84, BEFORE EDITS; Subject: Paraphrase of Herbert Marcuse]In other words, America as a land of opportunity and freedom is a fiction, and the citizen-majority that accepts this fiction is made up of mindless zombies, unable to think for themselves--unwitting servants of their own persecutors, who themselves are undermining the cause of economical and political liberation. [Run-on sentence, 48 words][FROM P. 81, AFTER EDITS]That is: America, the “land of freedom” is a lie. Most citizens believe this lie, because they're zombies. Yet their economic and political liberty is in the hands of their rulers: Rulers who will never set them free. [Five sentences, 38 words]

When I saw the title of Mark Levin’s new book “American Marxism” I honestly thought the title was hyperbole. After reading the book, I don’t think it’s hyperbole anymore. This is a challenging but very informative read. Levin cites, in their own words from their own books, the thoughts of Marxists such as Karl Marx and explains the goals and strategies of Marxism from people who have written books, articles and have publicly embraced Marxism. (There is a 30 page bibliography at the end of the book in small print with footnotes for every quote and every book cited.)

Levin describes what “democratic socialism” is in the words of the people who are promoting it. He describes Critical Race Theory in the words of the people who developed it and are publicly supporting it. Once you read the beginning of the book, you will see for yourself the parallels between Marxism and the BLM movement, Critical Race Theory and Bernie Sanders’ democratic socialism. In Marxism, people are divided into two main groups. The bourgeoise and the proletariat. The bourgeoise (the rich) control the capital and own the industry and the proletariat (the workers) are at their mercy. According to Marx, the proletariat must rise-up and take what is rightly theirs. (Remember: Workers of the World Unite!) In the BLM movement, white people are the oppressors and black people are the oppressed. Black people are victims and white people have white privilege and are oppressors. If white people say they are not racist, advocates of BLM and Critical Race theory dismisses this as white people not being fully “woke” or aware of their white supremacy. It’s a heads I win, tails you lose argument. Bernie Sanders refers to the billionaires (bourgeois) and the working class (proletariat) and supports taxing billionaires much more so that they pay their “fair share” (never defined). He also supports the idea that government must provide a universal income to the working class who provide the labor for the billionaires to become wealthy.

I have not done the book justice with this brief description but to say that the book is eye opening is an understatement. One of the reasons that I was so skeptical of the title “American Marxism” and thought it was hyperbole is because Democrats don’t use the term Marxism because most Americans are openly hostile to the term. Democrats are masters at using language. Abortion is now pro-choice. Liberal is now progressive. Who could be against choice or progress? Very clever use of language.

Marxists usually don’t call themselves Marxists. They use terms like social activists, democratic socialists, community activists etc. One exception: The group Black Lives Matter is the product of a fusion between Marxism and Critical Race Theory. Levin writes, "In a 2015 video interview with Jared Ball, Patrisse Cullors, one of the three founders of BLM, declared that she and fellow BLM founder Alicia Garza were Marxists. Cullors stated, “I think a lot of things, the first thing I think is we actually do have an ideological frame; myself and Alicia (Garcia) in particular, are trained organizers, we are trained Marxists. We are super versed on ideological theories and I think that what we really try to do is build a movement that could be utilized by many, many black folk.”"

Meanwhile according to Levin, “BLM Marxist Khan-Cullors has acquired four homes worth several million dollars. She published a best selling book and signed lucarative deals with Warner Brothers and other companies to promote her agenda."

If you want to educate yourself about what is really happening in our country, I highly recommend this book.

Everyone needs to read this book. We are losing our country and it's happening at an increasingly rapid pace. Levin shows how this is being accomplished. He also has some good suggestions at the end about what we can do to stop the spread of Marxism. We all need to step up and do our part. I am. Are you?

Riveting! It is a book that should be read by anyone who loves the United States of America, who cares for its survival, and who wants to help take back, peacefully, what has been stolen from its citizens!

It should also be read by those in countries who face similar problems with government corruption, propaganda, censorship, and other methods of tyranny. If the U.S.A. goes down, you will become a victim too. The entire world needs to be informed of the cancer that has metastasized here.

Mark has warned us so many times on his radio program, his podcast, his books, and his Life, Liberty and Levin TV Program about the threats our country faces every-single-day.

If everyone listened to him with an open mind for just one month, I am sure they will learn 1000% more about our history, Constitution, our nation's heroes and villains than they ever did in school or mainstream news. Although Mark can be "feisty as ever", if you give him a chance, you will come to respect him and heed his wise advice. I am humbled by his pure genius, his tireless energy, and his commitment to help save our nation from the enemies within (and externally). I will be eternally grateful for his sacrifice in sharing his profound intellect, his vast knowledge of our Government, and his courage to keep fighting the good fight.

(I used to naively ask my husband, who came from a small Eastern European, Communist/Socialist country, "How did your people allow it to happen?", "Why didn't they fight with whatever weapons they had?" Now I know. They didn't see it coming. By the time they figured it out, it was too late.)

Mark, may God bless and protect you, your family, and our beloved country!

PS - Helpful tips for busy people: I purchased the Kindle version and downloaded the free Audible book (trial period). I love the convenience of listening to the book while I'm driving, cooking, etc. I pause/rewind on the phone, or I ask Alexa/Echo to "go back 1 minute, replay a chapter, or pause" while I take notes. When I have more time, I go to my Kindle and look up the passages I found most interesting on Audible and highlight them while typing additional notes. Wow! Sure wish I had these tools when I was in high school and college. I plan to buy several hard copies - for my husband, and three of my relatives.

Message to Amazon and Jeff Bezos: As much as it irks me to buy from this website due to the unjust overreach and influence of your corporation into our government and our lives, I do appreciate your products. But I beg you to please stick to your amazing business and keep your political thoughts to yourselves, or the Op Ed of your newspaper. Propaganda and censorship does not equal Freedom of Speech. Thank you!

An indispensable reading for anyone who values freedom and democracy.
A grim reminder of the evils of social engineering often stealthilly undertaken by a cabale of subservient intellectuals and party leaders not just in America but elsewhere in the world. The review by James D Krejc is not objective.
It is high on emotions rather than on logic . Because he doesn't refute a single theoretical objection raised by Mark R Levin.Neither does he answer issues raised in the book about the dangers of social engineering and also about the resultant brutalities. Another book titled Beyond Red An appostate on Communism by P.Kesavsn Nair ,an excommunist, is a good intellectual take on theoretical aspects of communism from an Indian point of view. The book is available on Amazon.in
