HBO Max has released a new movie trailer for their ”Father of the Bride” reboot.
The remake features Andy Garcia and Gloria Estefan as the parents of the bride. They play a Cuban-American couple trying to keep their own marriage alive while they also give away their daughter Sophie (Adria Arjona) at the altar. The beloved story includes a clash of two worlds as Sophie’s fiancé is Adam (Diego Boneta), a Mexican man whom her Cuban parents have reservations about.

In this new retelling described as a modern romantic comedy, long-married Billy (Garcia) and Ingrid (Estefan) are surprised when their eldest daughter Sofia (Arjona) comes home to Miami for a visit. But the surprises just keep coming when she announces a new boyfriend, Adan (Boneta) — who is now her fiancé — and their plans for a quick-turnaround wedding and a new life together in Mexico, where Adan’s family is from.
The new film is the latest in the franchise, which was first a book and later developed into the 1950 classic starring Elizabeth Taylor as the fiancée and Spencer Tracy as her fretful father. The 1991 version featured Steve Martin and Diane Keaton.
The new “Father of the Bride” is slated to premiere on HBO Max on June 16, 2022.
