When Mathilde de Saint-Valery was born about 1150, in Saint-Valéry-en-Caux, Seine-Maritime, Upper Normandy, France, her father, Bernard III de Saint-Valery, was 32 and her mother, Anora, was 24. She married William de Braose 4th Lord of Bramber in 1169, in Bramber, Sussex, England. They were the parents of at least 6 sons and 5 daughters. She died in 1210, in Corfe Castle, Dorset, England, at the age of 61, and was buried in Corfe Castle, Dorset, England.
