Me and Earl and the Dying Girl

Me and Earl and the Dying Girl ★★★½

This is the first time I’ve seen this film which just got into the streaming service Max. Came out in 2015 and stars 3 young actors Thomas Mann as Greg Gaines who is an awkward teen who literally doesn’t accept the world around them except making parody movies with Earl played by RJ Cyler until one day he has to visit a girl who suffers with cancer named Rachel played by Olivia Cooke.

I was generally surprised how sweet and emotional this movie actually is which both Mann and Cooke having their best chemistry possible. I’m glad Olivia Cooke is getting more work after Ready Player One and House of The Dragon.

Me and Earl and The Dying Girl is one of the better Coming To age films of the last 10 years and easily one of the better written movies from that genre which carried elements of both Be Kind Rewind and Fault of Our Stars but way better execution.
