      Critics Consensus

Taken is undeniably fun with slick action, but is largely a brainless exercise.

Deborah Ross The Spectator Doting dads are doting dads, I guess, and there is just no stopping him, which is a shame, as what follows is a big sorry mess of the most clichéed, improbable and xenophobic kind. It may stick to the formula, but with Liam Neeson in the lead it absolutely delivers what the target audience desires. newton s Filme top shooooww!!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/15/24 Full Review Dan R Everything you'd expect, incredible action, easy to follow storyline, not much more to it. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 05/08/24 Full Review Aaron W It's a fun movie, there isn't much more to it then that, it's a fun movie to watch. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/10/24 Full Review Forged S "I don't know who you are. I don't know what you want. If you are looking for ransom I can tell you I don't have money, but what I do have are a very particular set of skills. Skills I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you. If you let my daughter go now that'll be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you, but if you don't, I will look for you, I will find you and I will kill you." Arguably the most well-known and quoted film of the 2000s/ 2010s EuropaCorp filmography. Similar to Jason Statham in The Transporter, this movie saw actor, Liam Neeson, known for his turn in award-winning dramas, try his hand at being an action star. And what a movie it turned out to be. The story is riveting and the action gritty and visceral as most thrillers influenced by Jason Bourne were at the time. Unfortunately, the sequels, like all EuropaCorp films, did not live up to the potential of the original. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/10/24 Full Review SR C A simple plot is always the best; a protective Dad with a "very special skill set..." makes for a good movie. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/09/24 Full Review Franky L This movie was enjoyable and held my attention. It's the best if the 3 movies. The story was expectable, and the family is just deplorable - but Liam is fun to watch and it's fun to see him run around kicking butt and hurting the bad guys. John Wick light.
