why only one flac file? dated 44-04-02 is the only one I see.
The audio on these is better than most. If not the best, of Fred Allen show files. The Old Time Radio Researchers "certified" Fred Allen files audio is so poor it is un-listenable. In fact just a few moments of hearing their files in my ears actually causes discomfort, if not irritation.
Thank you for sharing these files. Not all are perfect sound but being that they are 70, 80, and older it's pretty darn good.

I haven't listened to all of them, but the ones I have heard the audio is pretty good! There is also a .wav option in the files section, which is a big plus. We need to be saving these in the best possible format. We've gone all digital and there is much to be lost regarding content in that regard.
Fred Allen's humor is surrealist yet also has a low-brow and high-brow at the same time sort of wit. His Chinese detective bit probably wouldn't be allowed today but Mr Allen I doubt meant any ill will in it, it was merely a parody of the popular Charlie Chan and Mr Moto series. His ad libs and non-sequitors are very smart. Fred Allen's shows have one major plus that a lot of other otr shows do not have: actual funny humor. I mean, jokes that make you laugh. It helps if one has a little knowledge of topical issues of that day, but any OTR listener will understand most if not all.
Good job, uploader. Thank you for sharing these great files.
