Being at girls high' it was easy to make friends and find your interests in classes, clubs. The school offers wonderful academic opportunities, and the counselors are helpful however they aren't the most reliable. Especially if your dual enrollment student. The teachers there are ok, and there's some amazing ones. However, some are weird and make students feel uncomfortable. The principle is new and doesn't know much, it's mostly the counselors who run the school. So overall, I don't regret attending because I made so many great connections and had many opportunities but the school was much better before and pretty much had many problems after my sophomore year.
My overall experience in Philadelphia high school for girls was okay. On one hand there were instances of teachers boarder line bulling kids and making inappropriate comments on kids clothing. On the other had at certain points in the year the atmosphere of the school was very positive and great to be apart of these. including school sports, school pride days and any days surrounding talent shows or celebrations surrounding cultures.
My experience at Girls High School was quite an interesting. Girls High School has prepared for different aspects that's I didn't think were possible. My best experience at Girls High School was the school events, even single Girls High School event. My worst experience was the horrible situations that took place at the school that ended up on the news and in news articles.
Being a student at girls high school is a little difficult because every day it's something new with this school. Some days, I will admit, I am concerned about the level of safety of our school. One thing I learned about being here is that if you want to advance at anything you're going to have to take initiative yourself and research what you need before asking anyone for help because most of the time the teachers and counselors dont know whats going on.
As a student of Girls High, I highly recommend looking into a different school. For one, the area is dangerous of crime and multiple students and people in general have been hit by cars on Olney. I couldn't even tell you how many lockdowns we've had, one was up to 2 1/2 hours. The teachers that are hired are not background-checked at all. The Mandarin teacher recently got arrested for relations to S/A with a criminal record before getting hired. I barely learned a thing in that school, and we are not at all prepared for real-life situations, such as college. The teachers/staff are extremely disrespectful to the students and do not care about our well-being. The heat is broken so the building is constantly hot. The food is poor and the lunch ladies have the nastiest attitudes, and gossip about the students as if they are children themselves. The security is the worst, we have a woman with dwarfism as a security guard, she can't walk. The security will take our things and throw it away
I just started to go to Girls High, I don’t have much to say because I don’t really know anyone and know much about the school but I’ll say they have a really good educational standard.
The best part about my experience at Girls High is when the whole school comes together and participates in a contest. At Girls High, a contest is an annual tradition that happens at Girls High. The contest is when seniors and freshmen come together to go against the sophomores and juniors in different sports. The sports contain dance, cheer, step, volley ball, jump rope, and more.
I would like to see the school lunch be actually edible for once.
I think we I talk about good experiences I think about all of the school activities we do. My school is great when it comes to traditions and keeping the school spirit alive. Worst experience for me personally would probably have been during covid when I was in the 9th grade. Me and my teachers were new to the whole “zoom school quarantined life”, but we still managed to get things done.
My experience at Girls High was less than I expected. Academic Girls High is the best for academics because it is a college preparation school. I never had a bad experience with the school, I just thought High school would be more than what I am witnessing. Extracurricular activities are not something this school is good with.I would like the school to be more of an highschool experince.
My overall high school at Girls High was good. The teachers actually want to see you succeed and push you past your limits and other’s expectations. There’s a few teachers who I am truly going to miss because they were love what they do. I like how we come together as sisters in Girls High. It’s really nice to see us cheering each other on and making one another laugh. One thing I would like to see change is the lunch provided. I see many students going through the day with nothing in their system because the food isn’t very pleasing.
My experience with Girls High School was really good! When I first entered the school as a freshman, I was scared and worried about not liking the school or the community, but from the moment I stepped in to today, the teachers and students have been nothing but friendly and passionate. My teachers taught me to be achieved academically which I believe is what helped me get into the colleges I applied to, as well as the opportunities they gave me to improve. I would like to see as a change more faculty work being done.
The best parts of my experience at Girls High are the people and traditions. Girls High traditions are unique and range from the Pop-up Shops to Contest. Letting my creativity and school spirit soar with our shop stands, flags, grade colors, and friendly peer competition is an experience I will not forget! While the surrounding area isn't the safest, there weren't many negative aspects influenced by the school management that were significant enough to affect my experience. I wouldn't change anything from my first three years attending Girls High. Seeing as I still have the rest of my senior year ahead of me, I look forward to the future.
My experience with my school was a little bit of a culture shock because I lived in the suburbs my whole life. The school is very diverse including teachers and students. Also, there are many opportunities that the school has to give students a jump start to college. One thing that I wish would change is the facilities there are a lot of things that need to be fixed and updated throughout the school building. Lastly, the hall monitors don't do their job and let kids that they favor get away with everything.
The school has great administrators and teachers. They focus a lot on getting you ready for college and/or life after high school. The music and arts program is excellent.
The best part about my experience at Girls High is having a sisterhood, being a part of a sport, and having events. At Girls High, we have a sisterhood that involves a higher grade level, like a Senior being a "Big Sister" to the lower grade, like a freshman. As a freshman, I had the opportunity to have a big sister, even during Covid year. I could communicate with my big sister about what classes would be best for me and how I could be more involved in the school. Furthermore, in my freshmen year, I joined the field hockey team and have been part of it every year, including my senior year. What I enjoy the most about being on the field hockey team is the collectiveness we must put into the game. We might struggle to win games, but we're all putting our effort into the game and appreciating one another. Lastly, the events that take part at my school involve performances and traditional events. I have enjoyed my time at Girls High and would recommend the school to others.
My experience at Girls High is interesting to say the least. I love Girls High and it's quirky traditions and the sisterhood, it's truly a privilege to attend this school. My teachers are all respectful and helpful to me and my peers, I leave classes knowing I am confident in what I learned. There aren't many bad experiences besides spending sophomore and junior year in sweltering heat with no A.C. but we all prevailed. Love the school, not so much the area it's in but it is inevitable. I'd like to see more community involvement and more funding for my school. It's only so much we can do with little funding. Overall, I absolutely cherish this school and my high school experiences.
