Sonora High School Reviews
Rating 3.95 out of 5 367 reviews
Sonora High School is an excellent institution that offers an enriching educational experience. It is not only academically rigorous but also provides a lot of opportunities for fun and socializing with a diverse group of individuals from various backgrounds. The school has a vibrant campus life, with plenty of extracurricular activities, clubs, and events that cater to different interests. Overall, it is a fantastic place to learn, grow, and meet new people.
The school is amazing but it lacks support for theater and music programs. Theater doesn't have enough money to put high-quality shows and the music programs are rarely talked about especially choir. Most money goes to sports and not really to arts. They also lack culture most of the activities that ASB are towards the caucasian community when the majority of the school's race is Hispanics/Latinos. The only time shown the culture is the yearly MECHA dance that a club does. It would be nice if the school focused on being more open about the culture the students bring.
I transferred to Sonora High School at the start of my junior year. Although it was very intimidating being at a new school I quickly adjusted to the environment. At my previous school I felt bad attending school everyday and time felt pointless. At Sonora they do a good job of making sure their students are happy with many easily accessible resources. The classes are challenging at times, but still motivating with many interative activities throughout the week. Most of the students here are very nice and welcoming and there is great diversity within all of my class. I have thoroughly enjoyed my past 2 years at Sonora and have met many other people who have tranferred like me. The staff is very easy going and the teachers care about their students so much. The college and career center has been very helpful as a senior and there have been many field trip opportunities to visit colleges and explore majors.
