Our slogan is 'This is a good school', not perfect, because it can always be better. But at the end of the day, it really is a very, very good school. The teachers really do care about the students, and for the most part the environment is really accepting and uplifting. There are endless opportunities and there's something for everyone. People appreciate the musicals just as much as they do football games, and at every pepfest, there's as much hype for the cheerleaders as there is for the drumline. Spirit days are always fun, because so many people participate. All of the biggest student role models are super well rounded, good grades with a season of sport and a season of theatre, as well as many clubs. This is what the Crimson strive to be, and it's awesome.
I cannot say many bad things about Maple Grove Senior High. Typically any issues I experience are with other students, which the administration does a fair job of addressing. The only issue I have witnessed is with our anonymous reporting and how it can be used as a form of bullying. A close friend of mine had an issue with a girl, who had been consistently stalking and harassing her. She went to the administration about it but it didn't seem to resolve the situation. This girl started to make false reports which led to my friend being pulled from class multiple times a day for almost a year. Admin even threatened to expel her, despite knowing what was happening. Similar instances have plagued my friend this last year as well with counselors pulling her out of class because of her (excused)absences, concerned about how much she has been in class. Overall, Maple Grove is a great school with very minimal issues. Staff works hard to support all clubs, sports, and extracurriculars too.
My time at Maple Grove Senior High was great. There is always so much happening whether it is sports, arts, and other events. The teachers really care about your success and make sure you can retain the material rather than just memorizing it!
