2021 was our fourth visit to the WWII Weekend show. As usual, I enjoyed seeing the flying 80-year-old aircraft, listening to the music, talking with the re-enactors, watching the "village firefight" and just taking in the ambiance of the place. Like earlier trips, the weather was hot and there were precious few opportunities to find shade, although some tents did help. Be prepared to take lots of water. The longest lines were for the various food trucks. Being a USAF retiree, I connected with the two WWII USAAF vets, Morris Jernigan and Ray Firmani. Out of curiosity, I waited for a while to talk with Hermann Pfisterer, a former member of the Hitler Youth. My late mother-in-law also was in the Hitler Jugend, as was required in Nazi Germany. But Mr. Pfisterer was so engaged in talking with one family, who hung on his every word, that after 10 minutes of waiting I gave up. There were so many people there they had to be shuttled in from distant parking lots, but this worked relatively well. Overall I'd give it a 4.5 out of 5.

I was looking forward to this. In truth, I wasn’t able to enjoy any of it because they didn’t permit me to enter. Their CC machines broke down while I was standing in line so I couldn’t buy a ticket with plastic and with my cash in pocket I was $1 short and they refused to allow me to enter. No ATM. They had no compassion, no assurance they’re systems would resume work, and no one was willing to spare $1. The staff was awful and all I wanted was to have a good time at a place I’d never seen before. I left angry and humiliated by rude employees. I will never return. They have a lot to learn about customer satisfaction and compassion. They should be ashamed.

we basically got a private tour. The instructor bill was great and knowledgeable. Truly special experience and worth it, a little gem of history

This year my kids and I attended every single day of the WW2 weekend. There was so much to see and do that it was great to not have to rush to see it all in a day. My daughter and I had fun getting our hair made up in the era style hairdo in the Victory Salon. My son enjoyed shopping in the military flea market for the perfect WW2 helmet. He got a real Polish helmet for $10 and wears it proudly around our house each day. The French Village battle is always a hit as well as visiting with all the different countries' re-enactors. The airshow is very impressive as well. Every year we make sure we listen to the Victory Lady's speech on a different WW2 topic. she is fascinating. I am so impressed that Holocaust survivors and WW2 vets faithfully come and speak at the event. Their stories are invaluable to learn from. Throughout the day there are period singers and a fashion show as well to entertain. Finally at night the place changes and becomes a magical event with hundreds of people that stream in in 1940's fancy clothing for the live swing band event. It is an amazingly worthwhile event - just need to be patient getting into the event. There is free parking and then a bus shuttle to the airport. So - come EARLY and avoid the lines.

Nice museum with many airplanes. The ww2 show they put on every year is great! Re enactments, war time planes, and the actors wear ww2 era clothing. Allied forces and axis camps set up. Very neat experience and all the money goes towards the museum/keeping the airplanes in the air. Cheap place to visit

This is a progressive museum that has been in service for many years and their annual WW2 Weekend is world class in itself. Excellent staff and a great experience overall. The entertainment is always first class and despite some absences over the last couple of years (people do pass away) they always manage to find quality replacements. Went to all but one of the shows over the years and am always finding things to do and different experiences to live. There is free parking after which you are transported to the event via a bus. Finally the best part of the Airshow is the one on one conversations with the "Greatest Generation" which sadly is dwindling in size very quickly. I have no doubts this museum will continue to thrill its guest for many years to come. 5 Star visit most certainly. and am awaiting the flight of the Black Widow!

Had wanted to attend this yearly event for the past couple of years - finally got there this year. It was like a Comic Con for the military. It was neat to see all the reenactors who were in the various camps - US, British, Russian, Korean, etc etc. Even those who paid to get in were dressed up in various military clothing and lots of the ladies were dressed in 1940's attire. We even saw FDR and Churchill being driven around a couple of times. There was a flea market type of area where you could buy all sorts of military items - likely a lot of attendees got their clothing in this area in previous years. Vehicle wise - there were a limited amount - my favorite being the STUG III in the German camp. Aircraft wise - again a limited amount although you got to see the majority of them fly - and if you wanted you could pay for a ride in one. Unorganized was the key word for the majority of the day - on the website there were a number of things supposed to happen throughout the day - it turned out to be a guessing game when and where they would occur. There was an Iwo Jima flag raising reenactment happening via the loudspeaker - just no idea where it might have been. There was supposed to be a US/Wehrmacht battle - no announcement just suddenly noise of a battle and a little play by play on the speaker but by the time we got to the area (only a couple of minutes) it was 20 deep so we couldn't see and it was over in 5 minutes at the most. There was supposed to be a dogfight between American and Japanese planes that ended up with the planes just flying in circles (at the same time this was going on someone decided to have a the flame thrower demonstration - really?). Very irritating was the fact by the tarmac people would set up their chairs and then leave to wander around - taking up all the good space to see the planes taxiing and taking off in the afternoon. I had signed up for an airplane ride and instead of having all those in one area they were all over and it took about 15-20 minutes to finally find the booth for my flight. My B-17 flight was great and the highlight of the day. We paid for the chicken dinner - while the food was excellent I had been under the impression they were going to have big band music going on during dinner but it ended up everyone grabbing their dinner in styrofoam container and trying to find a seat somewhere in the area with no entertainment. Also frustrating was the fact many of the volunteers seemed to be clueless - when we were leaving one said to go to the person down the line and tell her where we were going (to get on the bus back) when we told her where we were going she acted like we were speaking a different language. A friend who was here and has attended numerous previous years of this event said this was the most unorganized one he has ever attended. Overall I would say this was something that was worthwhile to attend once but doubtful I would travel from Ohio to attend again in the future.

Great job from start to finish. This is amazing to see the flying and the organization that it must take. Can’t wait to come back and visit again. We are airplane people and often add an aviation museum into our trips. Seeing these historical airplanes still flying is lump in your throat kinda thing. So glad we were able to experience this.

Our tour guide was excellent, adjusted to our level of interest. Lots of variety in hanger and several bigger planes outside. About 2 hours for tourist, more for a real enthusiast 😁

A very informative look at various types of airplanes through history including a Pre WW II and Jet Fighter from Vietnam era. We had a great tour guide - Brian - who was very knowledgeable since he was a former fighter pilot.
