The director turned comedy actor TP Gajendran passed away after prolonged illness due to age related health issues.

The Tamil film fraternity is in shock after back to back passing away for popular film personalities over the last few days. While it was legendary director and actor K Viswanath, who passed away on February 2 and legendary singer Vani Jayaram was found dead in her apartment in Chennai yesterday, popular director and actor TP Gajendran has passed away today.

The director turned comedy actor TP Gajendran passed away after prolonged illness due to age related health issues. He passed away today after returning home yesterday (Feb. 4) after undergoing treatment for kidney problems. It is to be noted that he is a close friend of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin.
He made his debut as an actor in the film 'Chidambara Rahasiyam', which released in 1985. In 1988, he made his directorial debut with the film 'Veedu Manaivi Makkal', which has Visu, KR Vijaya, Pandiyan and Seetha in lead roles.
He has directed more than 15 comedy films including Cheena Thaana, Budget Padmanabhan, Middle Class Madhavan and Banda Paramasivam.
