With the threat of the Mutant Registration Act, the last thing the world needs is a major mutant threat showcased over the global news. When Xavier’s son causes repeated incidents he must intervene to protect the public and mutant interests. With Magneto along for the ride, in the hopes of finding his missing children, he may be able to contain this quickly. But with S.H.I.EL.D, Mystique, Bolivar Trask, and others closing in on Lucas and David it is only a matter of time before chaos consumes them all.

Erik sucked in a breath, remembered, then tried not to, his wife and daughter’s faces. Haifa. The hospital during a good shift, and the nearby hole-in-the-wall bar they’d once been so fond of. All the possibilities that had ended too swiftly to alter his course. Those memories may well have been another life, for how out of reach they now seemed. “I would be kinder. Happier.” I could have treated you with the care you deserve. This last bit was plaintive. Yet Erik could not find it in himself to be embarrassed.
Or during a confrontation between Magneto and the X-Men, Charles Xavier proposes a hostage exchange and offers himself up. Magneto accepts. He and Erik then have a conversation.
