Explored 石壺殿 on Shi Niu Mountain, accessed effortlessly via a scenic cable car journey to the summit. The panoramic views during the ascent were truly mesmerizing, enhancing the overall experience of reaching this mountaintop gem. 傳説南宋乾道四年（1168），永泰嵩口鎮和平鄉感德里月洲村人張自觀（張慈觀），年30歲，自幼拜道學藝，道法高強。是年春夜，正在德化蕉溪石鼓巖練性，遙見石牛山頂魈魔作祟，強搶民女成親，遂駕雲以往，與五通鬼鬥法。羣魔力怯，徉敗誘法師入鬼索陣，拘之於石壺洞，洞口用柴火粗糠燎燒七晝夜，致法師發散臉黑。法師唸咒示知肖明、章敏二道師前來助戰。肖道人發力槌撞洞門，用力過猛，不僅撞碎石門，也碰壞師兄額頭，羞愧臉紅。章道人見鬼怪逞兇，師弟蓬頭散發，額頭碰破，怒髮衝冠，氣得臉色發青。遂有黑臉、紅臉、青 臉三法師面世。三法師合力，終於制服由螃蟹精變化而成的五通鬼，並用通天網盡受蛇精樹怪。 三法師伏妖后，見石牛山氣勢恢弘，遂將石牛山定為身後福地，相約日後功德圓滿，當聚首石牛，顯在石牛。1182年六月十三日丑時，章敏道人羽化石壺洞。次年（1183）三月初八，張自觀道人亦羽化於石牛山九龍潭。其後五年肖明道人於南平茫蕩山肖公洞羽化登仙。[2] 後來，石牛山麓的榜上、乘澤、嵩山、毛厝、梨坑五村鄉民在石壺洞依山岩築宇，聯同張公生前好友仙遊鄭思通、永春蓬壺林藥師、德化僧人陳正悟，塑張、肖、章三聖君像祀於宇中，開闢百年香火。民間尊張慈觀為“張公聖君”，俗稱張公法主、張法主公、都天聖君，其供像為披髮仗劍，環眼怒目，赤足踏風火輪，頸腰間纏一大蛇，烏面。

I visited Xiamen on a family trip in 2012 and the local family friend brought us to this particular temple and mountain. The drive up to the mountain climb area is really thrilling. Its a single vehicle path and yet at certain point of the path, you get oncoming traffic too! You really got to trust the skills of the driver! And the turnings here and there, bumping here and there, makes you nauseous, my aunt vomited and nearly fainted when she arrived so she did not participate in the climb. It is a very nice mountain, nice view of surrounding mountains, fresh air, strangely shaped rocks. But be careful when you are climbing up the mountain as some areas might be very steep and narrow. And some of the steps are already very rusty, so be careful not to slip fall and cut yourself. It is not a tiring climb because the scenery and the fresh air will overwhelm you of you feeling tired. My personal recommendation is to wear a pair of shoes instead of slippers or sandals.
