With 27 seasons of The Bachelor, it can be difficult to decide which is the best one. The first season premiered in 2002, and is the flagship of The Bachelor franchise, which has inspired a host of spin-offs. The show follows a leading man as he dates around 25-30 women, eliminating contestants each week, until there is only one woman left for him to propose to.

The very first bachelor was Alex Michel, a management consultant. Season 5 focused on Jesse Palmer, who has since become the host of the franchise, after Chris Harrison had to step down. Season 11 was quite memorable, because Brad Womack rejected both of the finalists in the finale, proposing to no one. Seasons 13, 22, and 24 featured Bachelors surprising audiences by ending their relationship with the winner to pursue one with their season's runner-up. Nick Viall's season - season 21 - caused a lot of controversy, and was the lead's fourth appearance on a Bachelor show. Peter Weber's season - season 24 - had the drama of former Bachelorette Hannah Brown returning and stirring up old feelings. Matt James was the first Black bachelor, and there was a lot of controversy around his winner, Rachael Kirkconnell, who had allegedly posted racist photos in the past.
