Since our humble beginnings 36 years ago, Oneworld Hanxin College has been upholding people-oriented education management model to cultivate students with creativity and critical thinking. When Oneworld Hanxin began in 1988 with its establishment of Department of Communication, we keep the curriculum responsive to the changing world, and constantly improve teaching and learning facilities to benefit students. Our alumni communities are spread across the region and continue to excel within their respective position in communication industry. History of Oneworld Hanxin College

Since our humble beginnings 36 years ago, Oneworld Hanxin College has been upholding people-oriented education management model to cultivate students with creativity and critical thinking. When Oneworld Hanxin began in 1988 with its establishment of Department of Communication, we keep the curriculum responsive to the changing world, and constantly improve teaching and learning facilities to benefit students.

Oneworld Hanxin College has offering Diploma in Journalism, Diploma in Broadcasting and Diploma in Media Studies. Our alumni communities are spread across the region and continue to excel within their respective position in communication industry.

Upon completion of the Diploma courses at Oneworld Hanxin College, our students are eligible to pursue Joint Bachelor’s Degrees through established partnerships with our sister universities in Mainland China and Taiwan.

History

  • Year 1989

    Journalism Course was launched

  • Year 1990

    Photography Course was launched.
    1st Study Trip to Taiwan

  • Year 1992

    Hanxin being the first private college to organize community service and countryside volunteering.

  • Year 1994

    Public Relations Course was launched.

  • Year 1996

    Information Course was launched.
    Forging partnerships with universities in Mainland China and Taiwan

  • Year 1997

    Renamed as "Hanxing College of Communication"

  • Year 1998

    Courses in Broadcasting, Television and Film were launched.
    First batch of Hanxin’s students furthered their studies with our partner university, Shih Hsin University, Taiwan.

  • Year 2002

    The number of graduates hit new high (343 graduates).
    Construction of new college building was begun.

  • Year 2005

    "Top Ten Charity" organised a fundraiser for Hanxin.

  • Year 2008

    Held Master’s Program in Mass Communication in collaboration with University Nanjing.
    Campus relocated to Taman Tayton View Cheras, Jalan Choo Lip Kung.

  • Year 2009

    Officially renamed as "OneWorld Hanxin College".

  • Year 2013

    Celebrated the 25th anniversary.
    Introduced the “Education without Selection” Scholarship

  • Year 2014

    Curriculum reformed to include General Education courses to help develop a well-rounded student.

  • Year 2015

    Revamped library, carpark and other infrastructures.
    Organized "International Conference on 200 Years of Chinese Press Industry".

  • Year 2018

    Co-organized “Science in Discovery – 2018 Communication Science Forum’ with Taiwan Shih-Hsin University.
    Ownership transferred: Tan In Fong served as President and Lim Ken Hun as Life Honorary Principal.
