Farmer Wants a Wife is airing its second season on FOX, answering the age-old question, "What happens when you set The Bachelor ... on a farm?"

The dating competition features four farmers who each pick eight women from hundreds of applicants to speed date. Some of those women are from small towns, others are from big cities. All of them must prove that they've got what it takes to make it in the country (acrylic nails be damned). After an initial round of cuts, five ladies per bachelor head to their prospective husband's farm, where the real fun begins.

Who are the farmers in Farmer Wants a Wife Season 2?

Mitchell Kolinsky, 27

Mitchell is a first-generation farmer in Mount Juliet, Tennessee. Unlike his two brothers, who pursued more traditional, white-collar career paths, Mitchell felt called to pursue the great outdoors. “He knew a life in the heartland was the one for him, so he bought his first farm to pursue his dream of becoming a horse and cattle rancher,” according to a press release from FOX. “He hopes to build a farming legacy with a wife by his side.”

Brandon Rogers, 29

Brandon Rogers is a second-generation potato and barley farmer in small-town Colorado (where the nearest airport is four hours away). He returned to work on the family farm after college. “His business is set up and doing well, and now the missing piece is that special person to share it with," his bio says.

Nathan Smothers, 23

A fourth generation citrus and cattle farmer in Bartow, Florida, Nathan Smothers had to grow up fast after losing his father at the age of 12. According to his bio, he stepped up to become the "man of the house" for his mom and three older sisters. "He returned to live and work on the farm full time when he graduated from college and is eager to begin his next chapter, including starting a family with the love of his life,” his bio reveals.

Ty Ferrell, 42

The oldest bachelor of the bunch, Ty Ferrell is a team roper from Sikeston, Missouri, and a single dad to 12-year-old daughter Lennon. The right woman will understand that his "little girl is [his] everything."
