There are two ways to update your smartphone for time changes of any kind

What to Know

  • Open the Clock app > Settings > then choose a new time.
  • Open Settings > System > Date & Time.

This article will detail the two primary ways Android users can change the time or time zones set on their phones.

How Do You Change Data and Time on Android?

Whether you’re looking to change the time zone on your Android phone or just looking to update for Daylight Savings Time, updating the time is easy. You can change the time in several different ways depending on the device you’re using—Samsung, Google, LG, etc.

Despite the many types of Android phones from various manufacturers, the basic steps you take are always similar. However, to ensure you can easily change the date or time, we’ve detailed two specific ways to change it.

Follow the steps below to learn how to change the date and time using the Clock app built into your Android phone.

  1. Open the Clock app on your phone and navigate to the Clock tab.

  2. Locate the menu button. It should look like three dots in the top right-hand corner of the screen. Tap the menu dots to bring up the menu.

  3. Select Settings to open the date and time settings.

  4. Here you can change your default time zone. However, if you’d like to make more changes to the date and time, you can tap that option to be taken directly to your phone’s settings. You can then choose whether to set the time manually, have it update automatically based on your location, and more.
