I’ve been hooked on Hidalgo’s for a while now. Their brunch is so delicious. They have amazing cocktails and the service is always great. I definitely make a point to bring all my favorite people here and they never disappoint.

Overall, Hidalgo’s was decent for me. We went during their brunch hours. Not a big menu selection, there wasn’t any bacon. It’s a Mexican restaurant and they don’t even have any horchata or aquas frescas. I ordered the chilaquiles with carne asada with their breakfast potatoes. It was pretty good. My kids ordered the tres leches french toast. My kids really loved them, they were really good but I probably could have ordered one plate and split them up. The French toast were huge. Chips and salsa were good. I ordered a cocktail and I enjoyed it. The outdoor dining space is cute. I probably won’t go back unless they add more variety to their menu. I had no problem with the service. Everyone was nice and making a reservation for a big group was easy and they were accommodating.

Went for Valentine’s Day and they changed the price of their special and would not honor the price they were advertising. Food was very salty but our waitress was amazing. Solid 2.5-3/5 stars

Menu: I’ve never had a bad dish at Hidalgo’s. The fixed menu (Valentine’s day) had a good selection. I was a little disappointed when we were told that our normal cocktail choices were not available and we had to select what was listed on the fixed cocktail menu. I could tell our server was new. Though I appreciate good service, our table was visited so often that it became kind of annoying. Hidalgo’s has become our Valentine’s Day tradition (5 years) and we like it.

Both food and overall service was very good, a bit disorganized to start but they got it together. We visited for NYE and the menu was very limited. They did go out of their way to accommodate a Vegan member of our party, letting him order off of the Late Menu. The restaurant could use a furniture update, but I am guessing like other restraunts they are still in financial recovery mode. That said, we were happy enough with our visit, that we will return.

I was very disappointed with the quality of the food. I remembered having good meals here before, but tonight my meal was mediocre at best. I ordered the marinated flank steak, and I know that is not the best cut of meat. However, probably prepared it can be delicious. It needed to be thinly sliced and have more chimichurri sauce. My plate was a mess. There were black beans covered with tomatoes and nopales surrounding the steak which was topped with lots of garnish and overall, it just looked like too much of a mess. Considering that I paid $35 for my meal, value was not good. My husband had short rib enchiladas, and they were rather tasteless. He thought the best tasting part of his meal was the black beans.

Had the Hildago Benedict and Short Rib Enchiladas. The Benedict had perfectly poached eggs, crispy ham, and a nice heat to the hollandaise with a refreshing avocado and microgreen garnish. My wife had the short rib enchilada which the red sauce was extremely salty, she could not finish it. The flavors of the enchilada were just ok, not very memorable. Cocktails are very reasonably priced and tasted great.

The food was good but I would have liked it to be spicier. I felt it was a bit bland. When we go back, I will request it to be spicier. I also feel the prices are a bit high. The service was great!

Adamans was our server. Had a little trouble with our order my husband and I both ordered two tacos Carnitas, then one side of rice and beans. But we only got one order of tacos so we had to get another one. Then my husband order a House, Margherita, and I ordered the Tequila. Oh fashion margarita. But what I really got was an old fashion. I love old fashions, so I just didn’t even say anything. The tacos were excellent and so are the chips and salsa. I like the ambience because it’s old Mexican style.

This was a unique kind of dinner with a different cocktail for each of the 4 courses. All the cocktails and foods were delicious. Both the bartender and chef were very knowledgeable and informative on each of their creations. I hope there will be more of these kind of dinners. It was fun and we met a few wonderful people too.

The experience at Hidalgos was pretty bad.. walking in a young man walked past us, had his left index finger in his nose.. Didnt know he was going to be our waiter. We ignored it (gave benefit of doubt he would wash his hands) and sat down. Served us water, noticed fingernails were dirty and unkept. Appetizer was very salty couldn’t eat it.. At this point we decided to leave.. Staff was multitasking and not very attentive. Atmosphere, staff and bar clientele was not what we expected.. Seemed like a typical Acapulco’s rather than a higher quality restaurant considering their prices.. Would definitely not recommend.

I was very underwhelmed by this place. Food was mediocre. Salsa tasted like it came out of a jar. Service was slow, no one ever checked up on us. We had to wave staff over to take our order and get refills on drinks, even though the place was relatively empty. Not a place I would recommend to anyone.

Visited after not being here for a few months. Great new items added to the menu. Duck confit with mole sauce was a hit with my husband. The salmon was prepared and presented beautifully and was perfectly cooked.

We sat for over 50 min without recieving our food with the explanation that they were busy in the kitchen. After 50 min, I asked our waiter to check with the kitchen how much longer it would take, a few min after our waiter comes back and said that someone forgot to take our order to the kitchen and he was not sure anymore what we ordered (one french toast and one chicken tacos). No apologies for the delay. When we responded by saying that we don’t have time to wait for much longer, he suggested that we should get the check for our drinks. Overall poor experience and customer service..

They sat us in a random room with storage containers on the top shelve. It felt like we were in a laundry room of some sort. They did have a special event happening in the main room, but still too weird of a room to dine in. It was our first time there and we were hoping the food would convince us to give it another shot, but the food was also mediocre. Waitress was nice though, although our drinks did take about 20 mins to come out.

I had always wanted to try this restaurant given its building’s old-world charm, and we finally tried it yesterday as a family for a Lunar New Year’s brunch. Sadly, other than the French Toast worthy of the price, both orders of Breakfast Hash had no flavor whatsoever and both were missing queso fresco (thankfully we didn’t want it anyway), while the spicy ham of the Hidalgo’s Eggs Benedict was overly salty, and the stewed beef all over my mom’s Barbacoa Benedict was both overly salty and extremely messy. Perhaps Hidalgo’s does well in the non-brunch categories.

I think they sent our server home or on break between dropping off water and us ordering, we sat for well over 30 minutes before my friend had to go inside and flag someone down and tell them they forgot about the two tables of people outside. Other than that it was fantastic.

Server Kaylee was great drinks were good as well. Tequila old fashion was perfect. Had chicken a d 3 cheese, and an enchilada. The sauce was good and the handmade tortillas were good.

Very disappointed in the over all experience. The only positive thing about the dinner we had was the jokes that my family was making regarding the experience. As we discussed getting up to leave the food came.

The place looked nice. What I had (asada tacos) was mediocre. It was mostly just meat. I would of liked onion, cilantro, etc. I was told the chicken enchiladas was delicious. The food was a little pricey, but what place isn't these days. The staff was nice and friendly.

Haven’t been here in years. New owners and a bit different menu. I had a Cesar salad and the appetizer clams and calamari. The Cesar was a bit vinegary but otherwise good. The seafood pot was delicious adobe sauce was perfect. My husband had the burrito which was also delicious and lots of leftovers. Chips and salsa served when seated which many Mexican restaurants are charging for today. It was nice. Comfortable interior. Will go back.
