Wellston, Ohio – The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office has taken into custody a man accused of stabbing a woman and stealing her car on Thursday night in Wellston.

The suspect, identified as 27-year-old Isiah I. Robinson, allegedly stabbed a woman in Wellston before absconding with her 2015 Jeep Compass. In an attempt to flee the scene, Robinson collided with a 2018 Hyundai four-door vehicle, causing damage to both the Hyundai and a 2009 Chevrolet Cobalt.

The incident unfolded at the gravel lot side of the weigh scales at The Detour, located at 7575 State Route 327 in Wellston.

Robinson abandoned his vehicle at the scene, which was subsequently impounded by the Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities arrested Robinson in Chillicothe around 10:30 a.m. on Friday, based on a warrant for felonious assault. He is currently detained in the Jackson County Correctional Facility.

Jackson County Prosecutor Randy Dupree’s Office will now review the case for potential additional charges or presentation to a Grand Jury.

The victim, whose identity has not been disclosed at this time, was known to Robinson and is currently hospitalized in serious condition.
