Battle: Los Angeles Reviews
Our plot and attention is not split and spread to several places or groups of people around the country and world. We stick with one group the whole way through and that's the movie's strength.

After a shotgun wedding between Black Hawk Down and Independence Day, this movie was the unwanted offspring—an unintelligible mixture of war movies and science-fiction that insults the credibility of both genres.

It’s aim was to be a pre-summer popcorn action movie and it hits it’s mark.

Thanks to some awesome action sequences and Eckhart's performance, this film is worth a look.

Is at its core a war movie, and one with the requisite cross-section of personalities in its assemblage of Marines and Air Force personnel.

Plays like an only sporadically entertaining Marines propaganda film.

The creators have definitely played their video games and watched their alien invasion films.

Every frame of Battle: Los Angeles feels wasted.

Over the years movies have taught many important lessons, chief among these are don't retire, never retire, nothing good will come of it.

I was impressed that Battle: Los Angeles explored the reality of "tough calls" and didn't pander and suggest that there is always a black and a white. So while it isn't a great film, I felt it did a good job of exploring this issue.

While this one won't change your life, it will entertain you for a couple of hours.

Yet another run-of-the-mill alien invasion movie with nothing original to say.

It could be better (particularly in some of its dialogue), but on the whole, Battle: Los Angeles is a good example of its genre.

So, yes, Battle: Los Angeles is, despite its extraterrestrial additions, a standard-issue war flick. It's a solid one, though.

I didn't think it was possible to make SFX sequences more baffling and headache inducing than Transformers 2, but Battle: LA found a way.

Case in point: Battle: Los Angeles, an alien-invasion disaster piece so loud, ham-fisted and joyless-so aggressively lousy-that its only real usefulness is to make one better appreciate the deft touch of a Roland Emmerich.

Misses every mark it's aiming at, and then misses countless more.

Battle: Los Angeles misses every mark it aims for. Aside from the well done special effects nothing in this movie is worth recommending.

It's not new, it's not novel and it's not art. But as a popcorn movie a couple of months out of summer season, it'll have to do.

Just the worst, most cliché-ridden bunch of faceless cannon fodder you've ever had the misfortune to watch die.
