LACM is a great school with amazing faculty! The pacing is a bit rigorous, but it is exciting to see how quickly you can grow with your craft. Any major/program can also benefit from LACM's amazing Music Business classes. Overall, a very realistic school with great connections.
Los Angeles College of Music has been a great experience for me. As a student from a middle/low income household who went to a huge public school, I was excited to attend a small college. Its the kind of place where students and professors know your name, and it's easy to ask for help. I’ve also thoroughly enjoyed the classes I’ve taken in music law, music copyright, songwriting and music theory. LACM made it easy for me to connect with other students, who I collaborate with on music projects professionally, even outside of the school. My goal is to go into music supervision once I graduate. I would’ve loved for LACM to have more affordable dorm options. The Cadence is the dorm setup for LACM, and a shared bedroom and apartment space starts at over $1200 a month.
