Stayed her when a family member was having surgery at University Hospital. The staff is amazing! Very friendly and curteous. You do have to pay for valet parking ($21), and that is the only parking option. The valet staff was also very helpful, and nice to work with. It is an easy walk to the hospital, right across the street.
The room was nice. They have been recently uodated, and everything was in good order, and clean. The beds were very stiff, but we did not have the expectation of having luxury mattresses for the cost of the room. This room had a walk in shower, no tub, that was spacious, and met our expectations.
This hotel does not offer any free meals, but the food selections, although slightly higher in price than I felt they should be. The food selections were good, and I was happy with what I ordered (a breakfast sandwich, and then a chicken bacon quesadilla at dinner). Both were filling and tasted delicious. They were also open later than the other food choices, so it was very convenient. Although I didn't try anything, they also had a few house cocktails, and a selection of wine and beer.
Overall, this hotel met our needs, and we were pleasantly surprised at how nice it was. We stayed here out of necessity, we would consider staying here again when we visit the sites of Cleveland, and don't want to drive home at night.

Pros: Clean, Modern, Spacious Rooms, Friendly Staff
Cons: Still has a hotel chain feel, and thus lacks the character of a boutique hotel

When you stay a a Marriott Courtyard you can get a very different experience form hotel to hotel. Some are tired and aged. That is not the case with the Courtyard Cleveland University Circle. The hotel rooms are large, clean and very modern. Staff were very friendly. The exercise room was large and had a wide variety of equipment and free weights.

The only downside to the hotel is that the restaurant food is limited and average in quality, and the hotel lacks some of the charm you might find in a boutique hotel. However I would have no reservations in staying at the Marriott again.

Matthew Johnson helped us with housekeeping needs, and was very responsive to everything that we needed. He was very kind. We appreciated him so very much! It is a very close location while our family member was receiving care at the hospital across the street.

I have stayed at this hotel many times when visiting g my daughter at Case Western. It has a great location just off campus. This stay was drastically different in the service and upkeep. Neither the front desk or valet answered the phone on multiple occasions. I had to wait almost 1/2hr to get my car from the valet. Although they had signs everywhere about extra cleanliness protocols being in place I saw not one person cleaning my entire stay.

This will come up on searches as being right next to Case Western Reserve University and the University Hospitals. Despite this, if you're in town for one of those two places, I recommend staying elsewhere, driving in, and parking. The room was dirty (large pieces of food - pretzels, etc - on the floor.) We were never told housekeeping would not come during our stay and when we requested it, they still did not come. The (additional charge) breakfast is microwaved food, but there is a regular Starbucks just outside the front door. There is no parking available, so valet is mandatory, expensive, and incompetent. On subsequent days it took 40min or 25min for them to get our car. they insist that you text for your car before coming down but don't look at the texts. The front desk noticed the 40min wait and offered to take the parking charge off our bill. Spoiler alert, they didn't. We paid $300/night for this. Unless it's VERY inexpensive, stay elsewhere and drive.

I simply needed a break. I have always liked Cleveland and it is just a 3 hour drive from Detroit. I randomly chose the Courtyard mainly for its University Circle location and it's close proximity to Little Italy. I was not at all disappointed. This facility could not have located any better. First of all, I like the footprint of the hotel, being tall enough, yet not too imposing in a neighborhood atmosphere. I definitely appreciate the safety measures taken during these covid times, as all entering the property are appropriately screened. The check in process was simple, efficient, as well as welcoming. The room was immaculate and fresh smelling, decorated in good taste. But what puts this place over the top is the helpful staff. The supervisors, housekeeping, and front desk put a lovely face on the place! I received great attention from Shermetha. She gave me great tips on where to go nearby. She is knowledgeable about the town and I took her advice on several attractions in and around the area. I will most definitely consider this hotel on my next trip...and there WILL be a next trip!!

We recently stayed here to visit Case Western. I would have rated this hotel 4 star if it were not for the terrible house keeping service. In fact, we did not get any house keeping at all during our 3 night stay at the hotel.

The hotel cannot have a better location, right in the heart of University Circle, within minutes of walking to anywhere.

The room is very spacious with a sitting area, a mini fridge and a microwave.

The toiletry is on the light end - no body lotion for instance. Shower caps available upon request.

The shower is very weak, no pressure at all.

Now let me get to the reason behind the 1 star rating - we came back to the room the first day at little past 5pm finding the room was not made. Upon a call to the front desk, I was told that there would be no house keeping unless it’s requested. This was definitely a first for me throughout all my years of staying at various Marriott hotels. Nobody made me aware of this upon check-in. So I informed them that I would indeed like daily house keeping. However, still no house keeping the next day..

Absolutely loved my stay here. My rooms were tidied up as soon as I put my request in, literally have zero complaints. Absolutely loved Nakyya, the bartender, her drinks are also to die for, customer service is a ten also.
Lola at the front desk is always there to greet and help with a smile always; never once felt like a hotel. Kat at the front desk is also amazing, absolutely loved her humorous comments and she’s always happy to help me also. I definitely don’t regret staying there.

I chose this property based on its convenient location. My room was spacious, with two queen beds. The hotel falls short in several ways and I do not accept that Covid is to be blamed for all the failings. I stayed for two nights, arriving 6/4/21, checking out 6/6/21. The online information on many sites states that this property has a pool; it does, but the pool is closed. When I checked in, I was asked at the front desk if I wanted daily housekeeping service. I said that I did. Front desk staff were minimally friendly. There was a man out in the driveway/parking area during the day, who was very nice.
When I returned to my room at about 10pm that night, my room had not been serviced. I went down to the lobby for some clean towels.
For the lobby "cafe," I was not expecting much, but they advertise that they offer yogurt, fresh fruit, Starbucks coffee, and bagels. This is along the lines of a snack bar on a train. They did have a few yogurts in a refrigerated case. There were two bagels on a serving plate. The fruit selection was ONE dark brown banana on a plate, for which the cafe server apologized without my saying anything.
