                                                                                                                This used to be my gluten-free go-to in the Theater District but will never go back. 70 minute table limit means the grilled chicken sandwich came out 3 minutes after I ordered and was as dried out as shoe leather, clearly cooked hours before. My friend and I couldn't tell the difference between her cosmopolitan and my prickly pear margarita, that's how bad the drinks were - just random sugar juice with a hint of alcohol. The singing waiters rove around belting at top volume and make it impossible to have a conversation. We had to shout at each other.

Finally we heard her reply “ the music cannot be turned down - sorry”. When we asked for a table in a quieter area we were told it’s the same volume everywhere

Water was served and then a waitress took my order. My Cobb salad arrived very quickly. It was huge and delicious. I had coffee after. I took my time and never felt rushed ! Loved Friedman’s!!

                                                                                                                Note that at this location, if you eat dinner before a show, the wait staff performs Broadway show tunes at a very high volume. It makes conversation a bit difficult. There are short breaks between numbers, and some are quite talented, but we had expected a quiet meal to have conversation and it was difficult. Food and service was good!

They have delicious pancakes and other GF dishes for breakfast, and their lunches are amazing as well. The Friedman’s at The Edison is large and lovely (albeit a little bit loud), and it’s a fun place to go. It’s a good idea to make a reservation, if you don’t want to stand in line.

We received service with a smile, our server was so kind and attentive. The food was excellent! The avo toast and cheese blintzes were scrumptious. Our beverages were perfect. Easy to make reservations and they strictly adhere to all members of your party, being present. My avocado toast was just ok. The poached eggs were served cold and I needed a steak knife to cut the toast. The other diners enjoyed their meals. Next time, I will choose another menu item.

                                                                                                                We went on a Sunday for lunch and the place was packed. You definitely need a reservation. The people who work there are very nice and accommodating. Waitstaff attentive (I think because they want you to leave as soon as possible, it’s that crowded) They seem to be very allergy conscious. Food was just ok and not cheap. One bowl of soup, a Cobb salad and two cups of coffee cost $61 with tip. The biggest issue with the place is the ladies room. It is located in the hotel the restaurant is a part of, and has only three stalls. The line was very long ALL THE TIME. Definitely a drawback. I doubt if I will go back, not really worth it.

Service was terrible; I got hit by the same passing waiter twice as I was sitting at my table. Food was bad and the quantity poor. Disappointed.

                                                                                                                The food came out within 3 minutes of ordering. Way too fast. The cheese blintzes were good but overpriced at $24 for 3. $25 for pastrami hash with two fried eggs and toast was also over the top. It was good, but not $25 good. And they had no matzah. Not worth a return trip.
