The One Step Closer Bible is truly a treasure! This will become a family heirloom to all who own this wonderful book! Future generations will benefit from the wisdom and guidance found within the pages. Not only is it beautiful inside and out, but it has some easy to find answers to life's questions and mysteries which can be found in the HelpFinder Index. In addition, within the pages of the different books of the Bible, you will find brief sections that address issues such as love, suffering, doubt, etc.

The One Step Closer Bible will be read daily, so it is a book that you cannot claim as "I'm finished."

Thank you to Candace Cameron Bure, Goodreads, and DaySpring for a book that inspires, gives hope, and above all, peace.

I am so excited to be able to review a new Bible from Dayspring, called the One Step Closer Bible! I have had my eye on this Bible as soon as I saw that it was being released in February. The One Step Closer Bible is in the easy to read New Living Translation (NLT), and comes in a beautiful navy blue imitation leather cover with perimeter stitching. It has gold foil designs on the front cover, and has “Tyndale”, “One Step Closer”, and “NLT” on the spine. It is a nice compact size, that is easy to fit in a purse to transport to church or anywhere else on the go.

This Bible has three ribbons in navy, white, and pink. It has a sewn binding and gold gilding. It has a paste down liner in a pretty pink. The Bible starts out with a presentation page, and an introduction from Candace Cameron Bure. Each book has an introduction that gives you an overview, outline, and key verses from that book. The scripture is in a double column format, and is in an 8 point font. The only thing that I would change about this Bible would be to make the font just a little larger. I could see that being an issue for some. There are lines on the side of each page that give you a little room to take notes. It is a red letter text.

There are application notes throughout the Bible that give insight into the scripture on that page, application, and encouragement. The application notes focus on the topics that are found in the Helpfinder Index. The Helpfinder Index is, in my opinion, the best part of this Bible. It has over one hundred topics, with questions that go along with that topic, and where to find the answer to the questions in scripture. I have not seen a feature quite like this in any other Bible, and I am finding it really helpful. If I have a question, or am feeling a certain emotion, I can look it up in the Helpfinder Index, and explore the answer in scripture. There is also a section of “Great Bible Passages to Study and Memorize”.

I love this Bible! I enjoy the NLT, the Helpfinder Index is a wonderful study tool, and the application notes throughout are helpful. I carried this Bible to church this week, and the size made it very portable. I plan to use this Bible often, and I would recommend it for any woman who likes the NLT and would want to use the Helpfinder Index.

I received a copy of this Bible from Dayspring, in return for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

This year my resolution was to read the Bible in its entirety. It’s been a memorable year dwelling in wisdom, truth, peace, grace and knowledge, of prophecies, miracles, and redemption, the glory and splendor of our Lord and Savior found within these pages and brought to life through the Holy Spirit.

I highly recommend this Bible and reading it in chronological order. I loved the layout, intros into each book of the Bible, scripture devotionals, and HelpFinder index. The NLT brought scripture to life and was easy to follow and understand.

Whether this Bible or another, just get in the Word of God. It’s His love letter to His people, our guidebook, our hope.

In 2020 I felt the calling to read through a different translation of the Bible each year. This past year I’ve read through the NLT version. It is a beautiful, easy to understand translation with wonderful context and insights written in. Thank you @candacecbure and @dayspringcards for putting together this version of God’s Word!

I really like the features in this bible. The translation is easy to read and so far the one I’ve personally understood the clearest. The features of this bible that I like the most are the promises of God are highlighted throughout the bible, the words of Jesus are in red, the Help Finder Index, and there is room to take notes. There are also application notes throughout the Bible that give you practical application lessons to apply to your life. Some of the application notes also reference other parts of the Bible that relate to that application. This is the bible I find I read and reference most often.
