The price was affordable and the room was really spacious. Bed was so comfortable i guess we got a Super king size. Its clean and with high speed free wifi. It was just 5 mins away from the Underground shopping mall which was great for ladies and mens. plenty of shops selling at really low prices. Spent a bomb there! there is a mall and mcdonald opposite too.. would stay here again!!
The price is still very affordable for such kind of hotel. People were friendly helping us to find the bus terminal to go to Kaiping. They were really try their best but finally provide the wrong information .. Which finally turned OK. The hotel has no breakfast capabilities which could be an issue.
Pros: Great hotel with clean, spacious, nicely furnished rooms, a HUGE comfy bed and fluffy pillows and nice shower. Chaise longue was a nice touch. Wifi was good. Breakfast was fine and had enough Western options (bacon, eggs, sausages, yoghurt, cereals and toast) and was on till 10:30. Check-in and out was smooth. Good location for border crossing, that underground mall and Lianhua Pedestrian Street. Easy to get taxis and busses. Lots of restaurants and shopping in walking distance.
Cons: we had a non-smoking room and the room itself smelled of a nice air freshener. However, the bathroom filled with stale smoke air every time you turned on the extractor fan during the first day and a half. Doors are not very sound proof, so if housekeeping or your next room neighbours decide to have a chat in the hall, you will most likely be woken up. Light switches are touch pads that glare bright blue at night. Reception spoke good enough English for check-in but that was it. We tried to find out which bus to take to go to the Fisher Girl Statue (we also had the name in Chinese) and if there was a bus to the airport, but we only got blank stares. Granted, bus info is not really part of their job but it would have been helpful.
The Pros definitely outweighed the Cons, and I would definitely stay here again.
Overall it is a good hotel to stay. But there are two comments you may want to know. Firstly, the towel is a bit old and hard and it is not so fragrant. Secondly, if you stay at high floors, there will see lots of discarded furniture on the roof of other lower buildings.
Also when you use their clothes hanger, remember to put back in the wardrobe before you check out. We had a problem when my son left one cloth hanger on the bed and they actually make you wait to look for it. Apparently some PRC travellers like to take things from the hotel.
This hotel is most conveniently located being very close to the immigration check point going across to Macau. Also very close to restaurants or cheap street food. It was wonderful being able to walk over to the underground shopping mall at immigration center for loads of shopping and also some good food.
The hotel itself is great. Room was of adequate size with an huge and comfortable bed. It is very clean and the hotel stuff were friendly and helpful. checking in and out was a breeze. Due to its strategic location, we were able to walk to lot of places, hence, getting plenty of exercise after all the good food. Will be our top choice on any return trip.
