Great for feeding large crowds

We ordered catering from McClards and the spread did not disappoint! The ribs were a particular hit with our party, and we were glad to have leftover beef for sandwiches the day after. The sauce is delicious -- people were fighting over the bottles to take home!

Great old-school BBQ place, More in line with what I expect from a Carolina (vinegar based sauce) BBQ place . Do not expect a lot of flavor in the beef, that is what their sauce is for. Ribs were cooked to a perfect "toothsome" texture. I thought the turkey was over-brined, making it rubbery. Great friendly service!! Would go back

Only ate here because it's so iconic and was pretty let down.

I had heard so much hype about this place, but it was just down right not that good. We got there early because we heard that it was hard to get a table. That ended up not being true and the restaurant was only about half full on a Saturday around 11:30 am. We ordered a sampler and an order of loaded fries. The fries were great, except for the cheap sour cream that they put on top. A good dish made less good by a low end quality condiment on top. The sampler was where things really fell apart. It seems like this restaurant does two things well: the sausage, and the barbecue sauce. Those were both great. The ribs on the sampler were mediocre, while the pork and the beef were absolutely terrible. I ordered mine slice instead of chopped, and with the sauce on the side. Maybe if I'd let them chop it and mix it with barbecue sauce (like the beef on the loaded fries), I wouldn't have been so disappointed.

Truly disappointing

First time visited after Mclard family sold. Will be my last time. I see why the Little Rock store closed after a few months. It was just not good period! What a shame new owners took the top BBQ destination in Arkansas, and turned it into this? Hardly any customers on a Saturday afternoon proves my point!

Really good BBQ!!

My wife and I used to live near Hot Springs and we ate at McClard’s often. Never were disappointed. We’ve since moved away but still visit HS about every year or so and try to have lunch there. The Tamale Spread is my favorite. My wife likes the BBQ sandwich.

Not what we expected

We ordered the ribs and chopped pork. The pork was shredded and had no flavor. The ribs were extremely tough NOT what I expect from a BBQ restaurant. They’re supposed to be known for the BBQ sauce which was like a tomato sauce that neither my husband or I liked. We were expecting sensational based on the reviews but we were both very disappointed.

I heard that this was one of the top barbecue restaurants in Arkansas. When I went I was somewhat disappointed. The barbecue sauce had too much vinegar. I guess this is Carolina style but I prefer the smoky, sweet Texas/Kansas City style. Overall the food was just fair. There are many, better barbecue restaurants in Arkansas,

Good (& little spicy) BBQ

Quick service. We had chopped pork plates, tamale platter and potato salad. Tamales were large (not in corn husks) and pretty good amount of spice. The BBQ sauce has a little spice too. The potato salad was an excellent, cool compliment to the spice. Just FYI the bathrooms are small and outside the restaurant so if you have little ones and it’s rainy/cold it may not be ideal!

The service, food and hospitality is always top notch. We come here each year over Thanksgiving weekend. We all enjoy the brisket, ribs and tamale plate. The peach cobbler is so good…this year they sold out of the cobbler before we arrived.

Some of the best BBQ around

Was craving bbq, so my husband looked up places online. We found McClard's and decided to give it a try. So happy we did! It was delicious! The sauce is definitely worth purchasing by itself. The beans are good, but they are more like chili beans instead of baked beans. They were out of sausage when we went, and I was slightly disappointed, because I know it would have been delicious. The brisket was tender and tasty!!

Before it was sold they had some really good food. Went today for lunch and had an average chopped pork plate with fries and beans. I fould a tooth pick in the pork and hoped it wasnt from a previous diner. The fries are not homemade anymore and the beans recipe has changed with all kinds of scapes in them. This will probably be my last time to go there. Sadly, the new owners changed things.
