This museum tells the story of Ulster folk around about 120 or so years ago, think places Ln England like the Black country museum or the Beamish museum, it is a fascinating look at how life was then, Ireland being a far more rural place than perhaps most of England at the time.
There are plenty of little houses to look through, as well as representations of, banks, post offices, police stations and the like.
There are public toilets on site(yes they are modern), one of the houses was offering free samples of champ( mashed tatties and scallions), there is also a cafe on site with various cakes and hot food on offer, I thoroughly enjoyed my visit although I only got to see about half of the museum, as I was with my elderly mother and she is unfortunately a bit unsteady, but still a thoroughly enjoyable visit

We checked this place as a wedding venue for our step daughter. We met the wedding Co-orderinator who showed us around this lovely building. There is a small bar and a spacious function room Good atmosphere could be had especially at Xmas. Can also be booked for corporate functions. Not opened to public. Short walk or drive from the enterance of the Folk Park

Spent a couple of hours here, really well laid out and entertaining. The design of the galleries are really impressive, the train section being the highlight.
The only negative is some of the info on the signs needs updating, time has passed since it opened in the 1990’s and certain reference such as info on electric cars has subsequently moved on. However, in general I’d say it was well worth a visit for us nostalgia hunters! 👍

Came after seeing other reviews and was not disappointed, expect my phone did on me. Great view of Belfast and a nice walk round the park too. Lovely way to spend a few hours.

We always try to get here for the May day celebrations and see the school children of the village strut their stuff in what must be a ceremony steeped in history.
There is always a good turnout and it's well supported by families and friends.
There is usually a market in the street as well which adds to the jovial atmosphere and happy ambience.

A very nice graveyard to wander around. Could see into church from back side. Very convenient to the waterfront.

Fantastic facilities all round. Was there to use the Simulator to sharpen my game over the winter period and would definitely recommend. Will be back again over the coming months. Staff extremely helpful also.

The beach itself is definitely not one of the best that Northern Ireland has to offer !
There is a lovely coastal path out past the Yacht Club and the playpark was busy .
It was nice to see the boats and we enjoyed the walk .

Ruth was so lovely and helped to guide you through the entire process. From cutting the silver right the way to the polishing of your product. We went in not knowing anything about jewellery making and with Ruth and her expertise we left having some knowledge and a different appreciation to how jewellery is made.
