If you enjoyed the run of sentimental weepers that Lionel Richie made famous in the '70s and early '80s, they're all here on this anthology. "Easy" and "Zoom" weren't bad slow tunes, but then Richie began to overdo the maudlin lyrics and the results became predictable and pretentious, although he certainly didn't have any problems landing chart hits for a long run. It's interesting in the '90s to rediscover these songs and have the fact that Richie wasn't really a classic (or memorable) ballad vocalist decisively reaffirmed.
