Jeannie Epper, a veteran stunt performer with more than 150 movie credits, has died. She was 83 years old.

Per Variety, Epper passed away on Sunday evening at her home in Simi Valley, California. Born in 1941, Epper came from a family of stunt performers. Her father, John Epper, and mother, Frances Epper, were both professional stunt workers. Through this connection, Epper began her career at the age of nine, becoming one of show business's first professional child stunt doubles. Her brothers, Gary and Tony, were also working on stunts, and Epper has continued the family business with all three of her children --- Eurlyne, Richard, and Kurtis --- all having served as stuntpeople.

Epper had been a founding member of the Stuntwomen's Association of Motion Pictures, which was established in 1968. In 1999, she became president of the association and remained an honorary member. She became the first woman to be given a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Taurus World Stunt Awards in 2007. Epper's story was featured in the 2004 documentary Double Dare, chronicling Epper and fellow stuntwoman Zoe Bell through years of working on stunts.

Among her most well-known performances was serving as a stunt double for Lynda Carter in the 1970s television series Wonder Woman. This became a breakout role for Epper, and she followed it up by serving as Kate Jackson's double for Charlie's Angels. She'd later earn the Annual Stuntman Award for Most Spectacular Stunt in a Feature Film in 1985 for her work in the movie Romancing the Stone.

She would later go on to work on stunts for many high-profile movies, including Total Recall, Christmas Vacation, Demolition Man, Beverly Hills Cop III, Catch Me If You Can, Minority Report, Kill Bill: Volume 2, The Amazing Spider-Man, The Princess Diaries, Rush Hour 2, Blade, Armageddon, and many more. Her most recent stunt work was for the video game Ground Zero Texas: Nuclear Edition, which was released in 2021.

Epper had also worked as an actor with on-screen roles outside of her work with stunts and doubling. This includes roles in films like Foxy Brown, Earthquake, The Naked Gun 2 1/2: The Smell of Fear, Die Hard with a Vengeance, Spider-Man, Quarantine, and Fun with Dick and Jane. She also had roles in the TV shows Laverne & Shirley, Tales from the Crypt, Charmed, Supernatural, and Criminal Minds. She appeared in an episode of The Rookie in 2019.
