Tv rating for the show on HBO. Possibility and ideas
Since this show is going to be an HBO original. What is the tv rating that we think it will get since most of HBO library is full of mature rated media for an older audience . Do we think this show will be family friendly or be something more mature?

I am hoping itll be tv-14. I think thats the perfect rating for the series you can go darker if need be but not like it doesnt need to be tv-ma it really doesn't and i hope they dont try and make it all modern and cool and dark and tv-ma like. It really doesnt need it. Even look at the movies not even all the movies were pg-13. Hell half blood prince got a pg rating.
Yeah, that’s the prefect rating for this show. Stranger Things on Netflix has the same rating and it’s watchable for any age and can be light hearted and fun while the recent seasons can be darker and more intense
even the rings of power is tv-14 and that has some fairly like violent stuff. Like tv-14 is very wide scope you can do quite a bit. I'm also thinking like shows like The Flash, and Arrow are also tv-14.
Side note: how the hell did half blood prince get a pg rating.
No nudity and F bombs that’s it.
Yeah exactly like the last season for Stranger Things went straight horror and honestly it rivaled some horror movies with an R rating for scary and intense
i mean goblet and order didnt hve nudity or f bombs either and they got pg-13. and honestly, half blood has more like conventional violence than order i think like definetly more blood
Cutting out the bit where Greyback chews Bill's face off would certainly allow for that!
Adapting the books faithfully with canonical gore and violence puts this solidly in TV-14, I think from GOF and onward.
Don't think we'll be getting sex scenes though, as there weren't any in the books.
yea, the closest to a sex scene would be the scene frm deathly hallows but thats it. Still i mean this is hbo, who knows what liberties theyll take and where. I would not put it past them to include stuff like that tbh.
Even the greyback thing like we dont actually see him get bill, we see the after effects. There is a fair amount of blood described throughout all the books which is perfectly fine for tv-14 too.
I hope the show actually does scenes of the Order vs. Death Eaters in HBP, instead of getting the verbal play by play.
In which case, we would certainly get Greyback vs. Bill!
oh yea i definetly i we'll actually get to see it play out. They could do it as like we follow harry, like the book does and then during the scene where they're telling him what happened, we flashback to see it ourselves
Yall should really stop calling it an HBO show. I assume is gonna have a really good budget given the nature of the franchise. But it’s a MAX show, company owned by Warner. The same Warner that owns the CW. Gossip Girl reboot was a max show.
I’m not saying the show will be bad, I’m just saying people are putting Game of Thrones expectations on it.
Max shows don’t have the same quality as HBO originals though and get canned more easily
