Asda launches globally-inspired crisp flavours

Asda has launched six new globally-inspired crisp flavours to land in stores and online this week.

The new product flavours include habanero hot honey, which Asda product manager of snacks Helen Cook said was inspired “as a key trend that mixes sweet and spicy flavours together brilliantly.”

Others include lemon Cajun chicken, and Caprese salad favoured hand cooked crisps which are flavoured with buffalo mozzarella, basil and tomato with a hint of balsamic vinegar.

The grocer has also launched a new selection of ridged crisps to incorporate flavours from around the world.

These include flavours such as jerk chicken, Thai beef which has taste notes of lemongrass and coconut, and chilli mac ‘n’ cheese which has notes of cheese, chipotle, as well as habanero and jalapeno chillies.

Cook added: “We are seeing more of a trend for world food inspired flavours in crisps within the market, with a widened range of flavour profiles with inspirations from across the globe.”

The new seasonal flavours come as Asda is embracing summer with the launch of a new brand identity and creative campaign, ‘Serious About Summer’.

The new playful campaign aims to demonstrate it can deliver value when it comes to making the most out of the sunny weather and features Asda’s food, garden, home and clothing ranges.
