We arrived this evening and I'm already annoyed, frustrated, and upset. The lady that's supposed to help people access and print there tickets for the parks couldn't be bothered to provide ANY assistance whatsoever--she was so busy 'helping' some lady make DINNER reservations, go over (in great detail) seating charts, entertainment, etc., when there were not 1, but (wait for it...) FOUR staff members at the concierge desk with absolutely no one to help. This activities desk lady could have easily directed her over there where dinner reservations are typically made... (She could see I was struggling but offered no assistance.) Then at dinner they were playing music in the restaurant which we enjoyed listening to while we were waiting to be seated. And shortly after our food arrived, the basketball game came blaring over all of the speakers in the restaurant. When we asked to have the music back on, The manager came over and informed me that a couple of tables requested to hear the game. (I then stated my preference--no game--to which she indicated the need to cater to the guest that wanted to hear the game... REALLY?!! The ENTIRE RESTAURANT has to listen to tennis shoes screeching, buzzers blaring and whistles bowing while they dine because some XXX is missing the game?! Yeah, her priorities are (not) in order! The hotel is pretty and our room overlooks the pool. Let's hope it only gets better.

The hotel and hotel grounds are beautiful. The theme is consistent, and everything is clean. Check in, check out, and valet service was fast. We left our bags with the luggage service on our last day while we enjoyed the parks and the person helping us there was very friendly. Our room was clean, but the bathroom was a bit small. No big deal for our quick stay. The two queen beds also felt smaller than a typical queen sized bed. Again, no big deal for our quick stay. But if we were staying longer, for our family of four, I would either need to save up for a room that offered bigger/more bed configurations/room for a rollaway, or stay elsewhere. It was very nice to have the express passes for Universal and Islands of Adventure. The water taxi over to City Walk was also awesome.

This is our kids FAVORITE hotel!

Aside from the atmosphere, comfy beds close proximity and FREE UNLIMTED FAST PASS...our dog is even welcomed here!?! This is a pet friendly hotel.
They have a cute private area designated for dogs.
You would NEVER know this is a pet friendly hotel because it does NOT look or smell at all like one.

Is it pricey...yeah. It is the least expensive of the 3 onsite hotels (most of the time.) A regular garden room Ranges between $350-$450 a night.
Think about it...4 people in a room with unlimited fast passes from the day you arrive to the day you depart...
For a 1 night room rental you get 4 unlimited fast passes good at both parks for 2 days. (value of that can range between $60-$150 per person per day = $480-$1200 for 2 days)
So technically you can look at it like paying for the fast passes and getting a hotel night for free or at a cheap rate.

You also get discounts on merchandise thru both parks and they will deliver it to your room.

It also has great food choices. Make reservations for the restaurants. They fill up fast!

The pool area and gym are lovely too. (Extra cost for gym per day)

Expect to pay for self parking and valet.

The staff has always been super polite and helpful.

We've stayed at the Hard Rock and Portofino Bay at Universal Studios Orlando but the Royal Pacific wins for best resort for my family.

Portofino Bay is fabulous to look at when you pull up in the boat from the park and the rooms are generally larger than the other park resorts. The problem with Portofino Bay is the rooms are dirty, the general condition is run down and it is the farthest from the park.

We like Hard Rock but being that our families age varies from mid 50s to pre-teen it didn't have the family first atmosphere we were looking for.

Royal Pacific has nice rooms that are very clean, privacy (for now at least), wonderful restaurants ( especially Emiril's Tchoup Chop) and is accessible by walking or riding the boats.

The bathrooms were small in our suite but we loved the service and the feel of the resort. I highly recommend it.

Stayed here for the express pass. The express pass is almost necessary to ride more than 3 rides a day. There are a few rides where express pass is not accepted. These lines were long. Even w/ express pass be prepared to still wait for the roller coasters. A lot of the rides are simulators. We found out one of kids do not like these, causing motion sickness.
Be ware how much you bring into the park. A lot of rides require you to put everything into a locker before riding. The lockers are free but locker areas are small and many people bumping into each other yuck!
This Hotel stay was very nice although the rooms were a little small for the 2 queen beds. it probably seemed small being a family of 5 and needing a roll away bed. The hotel provided the roll away bed free of charge. We used the water taxi to go to and from Universal. We ordered pizza at night and had it delivered to hotel lobby. The next morning we order room service breakfast. You certainly can split one breakfast meal. The coffee was on point !
Thanks Universal for helping make family memories!

Hello we have just returned from a week at this hotel .we booked a lake view which we got but we where on the 7th floor so unless you stood right up to the window you couldn't see it .The rooms are spacious beds are comfy .Didn't rate the house keeping had to ask for towels as room hadn't been cleaned on a few days ,also inside of windows and mirrors had hand prints all over them from day we arrived .
Don't know if it was our nationality but everyone else was greeted when they arrived and received a garland but we where not .Staff on concierge very good very polite at all times .Not. Good choice of food for breakfast unless you like pastries .Beach area very untidy not like a Caribbean beach it is supposed to be like .Pool area nice plenty of swimming area .Don't think we would stay here again .my partner and son stayed at hard rock last year and got to say they are very very different would go to hard rock .If you stay here and are going out needing a taxi you are better using normal taxis we found a 10 dollar difference between black cars at hotel and normal taxi .Lovely walk from hotel to universal .

The advantages are clear, access to universal parks, priority tickets included and water shuttle.

The public areas are spacious and well appointed, lovely pool areas and pleasant restaurant.

The rooms are however sub standard for the price. Basic and for garden view, this can also mean highway view.

But you are there for the parks. Ticks the boxes for that.

I typically stay away from hotels in the triple digits ($100+), but I loved Royal Pacific. From the moment you walk across a grinder bridge into the lobby, you're greeted with a beautiful atrium. It's a great place to sit and read in the morning while you wake up.

We stayed here for Rock the Universe (although we ended up going to Night of Joy because they had a better lineup), and although we didn't go, it was well worth it. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful.

The only miss was the room service operator. I tried to order 2 different drinks off of there menu, both of which she said they didn't have. If they're out it's one thing, but after I asked for the second one, she told me that they didn't carry either drink...well that's funny because it's on your in room collateral...

Either she had a new copy (and the room attendants didn't swap out the old one we had) or she wasn't looking at one; either way, it was the only negative to an otherwise flawless stay.

After staying at all of the Universal Hotels (for value for your money) I'd rank them:
1) Cabana Bay
2) Royal Pacific
3) Portofino
4) Hard Rock

...although you can't go wrong with ANY of them!

We arrived with only Harry Potter World on our minds...then we arrived at our hotel room our older son started having severe pain. We called down to the front desk and they gave us our medical options. Given how he was looking, we opted for transport to the closest hospital. We got seen immediately at Dr. Phillips Emergency Department and after the physician there determined what we were dealing with and got us out the door, the hotel arranged for a driver to come and take us to a 24 hour pharmacy and then back to the hotel. He was feeling much better the following morning. We were able to enjoy the parks and the hotels for the remainder of our stay feeling confident we had done the right thing for our son. When we got our bill I was surprised to see the hotel arranged and comp'd all of this transport back and forth (which I know was pricey as we waited with the driver for almost an hour w/the driver at the pharmacy). We were so grateful!

Stayed here for a week for a recent work convention and would have to say the hotel was convenient for work purposes but I don't think I would bring the family here.

Pro's- Polite staff. Good location-quick boat trip to CityWalk/Theme park area. Bed was comfortable and shower was outstanding. Resort was clean.

Cons- AC did not work well. Heard several complaints from co-workers that their room would not cool despite AC being set at 65. Walls were a little thin so we heard everyone that got up and moving around before we did. Makes sleeping in a little difficult. No vending for quick snacks/drinks. Had to go down to bar to get a 12 Oz coke that cost me 5 bucks. Food selection is mostly South Pacific/Asian meals outside of Jakes....which has a small menu and was always crowded.

Overall as I said.....I would be ok with staying here for work again but I'd rather try the Portofino or Hard Rock but if I was coming on vacation I probably would make other arrangements!
