Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I’ve been in Hamburg a few times and every time I came to the same conclusion: it’s a cold, wet and unfriendly city. It’s probably just me, but if you like friendly and sunny places and enjoy the outdoors, Hamburg is most likely not for you (and me).

Here you can find most of the touristic spots and also lots of restaurants, cafe and bars. There's always lots of activities ongoing here including the weekends.

Emerging from the S Bahn station to views across the Binnenalster lake, then turning to see the Rathaus across the square & the swans on the river we were impressed with the area & took plenty of photos.

The embankment is translated from German as "rising street of maidens". Yes, in Hamburg, despite the deserved glory of the city of port brothels and prostitutes, there were also virgins. Respectable Protestant families walked their damsels along the shady Avenue on Sundays in search of a good match for marriage. As on Reeperbahn, but more decorously and nobly with the subsequent conclusion of the transaction forever, instead of for an hour as on the street of rope masters. The number of virgins in Hamburg decreased, the rest went to Instagram to advertise their plump lips and priests with iPhones. The trees were cut down before Instagram's world victory in 2005. Now the former alley is perceived as a promenade and the main thing on it is views of the Inner Alster with a fountain and boats. Sic transit gloria mundi-so passes the glory of the world, as the ancient Romans said...

Great place to come, when the weather is good, i dread to think what it is like during colder times. If its a case of coming and sitting at a coffee shop and watching the world pass you by then this is the place. Loads of things to take your eye

It was a very place and i saw people sitting down everywhere. We were in one Italian Coffee shop and then drinking coffee and eating my favourite Apfelstrudel. I really enjoyed it.

In general, Hamburg is a city to be seen, especially Philharmony and the harbor. Nice seafood and especially very friendlich and helpful people. Unfortunately, during winter time too cold to spend time outside.

We did not go to it but did visit sites farther out than it. Walking was not an issue from Rathaus. Was raining on return and we jumped the U-Bahn going back. Yes google it for walking distances. Its on the way to minitature wonderland which we considered a must see

Easy to get around on the metro. With one day you should go to the Old Town near Rathaus and tour around there,
Make certain to visit Minatur Wunderland.
Great city you will enjoy it a lot.
