Prince - Gigolos Get Lonely Too
Prince’s original demo for Gigolos Get Lonely Too, which ended up being recorded by Morris Day & The Time. However, this “demo version” is so good, Prince could’ve easily released this himself…

I’ve only heard The Time version. Thanks!!!
Morris Day’s version is bluntly better.
Prince is a stronger singer, but Day’s version has much more charisma and his ad libs feel more natural. I disagree this song could have been released itself. Prince doesn’t bring it to this version.
All of “The Time’s” music on the first three albums was written and performed by Prince with his lead vocals replaced by Morris Day’s. Prince didn’t want to be limited the “Black music” genre so songs he wrote that he thought would have pushed him in that direction too much, he released under “The Time.”
I bought this album when it came out back some years ago.
The song Prince really shines on is “Sex Shooter” when was done by Apollonia 6. It’s good because you can’t get the A6 version of Sex Shooter on any streaming option; you can only get it off YouTube or bootleg (and I have the anniversary Purple Rain Blu-ray which has the video).
