Walt Disney Revives ‘Marvel Television’ For Disney+

Back in 2019, Marvel Television was officially shut down under the former leadership of Jeph Loeb. The branded subsidiary of Disney and ABC always tried to create MCU-lite shows that always referenced the MCU, but the movies never referenced them back. These Marvel shows were developed for almost a decade, including Daredevil and The Defenders on Netflix, Cloak & Dagger on Freeform, The Runaways on Hulu, and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. on ABC. However, once Marvel Studios began developing their own shows for the newly released streaming service Disney+ like WandaVision, Marvel TV was no longer relevant. They also began developing their own animated shows like What If? Each previous Marvel TV show was canceled before Disney+ was eventually launched.

Today, during Walt Disney’s Upfront presentation in New York, the studio announced the revival of Marvel Television directly under Marvel Studios. This is unsurprising, considering the animated shows have recently been under Marvel Animation, not Marvel Studios, during the intros. However, all the projects will remain within the larger Marvel Studios multiverse. Even if the storylines are not directly connected. Several shows that were shown to the audience included Agatha All Along, Ironheart, and Daredevil: Born Again. With the reintroduction of many Netflix characters like Daredevil into the MCU. How long before other previously dead shows will now be fenced into the ever-growing Marvel multiverse?

Marvel Television shows will all stream exclusively on Disney+
