King Charles III accepts Patronage of the College | Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh

The College recently received a letter from Buckingham Palace on confirming that His Majesty The King was delighted to accept the Patronage of The Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh.

Royal Patronage was granted following a review of all Patronages held by the late Queen Elizabeth II and continues the College’s rich history of Royal Patronage.

Members of the Royal Family serve as Patrons of over 3000 charities, military associations, professional bodies and public service organisations across the United Kingdom, the Commonwealth and wider world.

They support their patronages by attending events to thank staff and supporters and sending messages to mark major events and milestones.

The President of The Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh, Professor Andrew Elder, said:

The Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh is delighted and honoured to accept the Patronage of The King; a great help in advancing our work on the development of standards of medical care and training. We express our sincerest thanks to His Majesty the King.
