These were posted on March 4. He died on that day in 1994 of a heart attack at the age of 43. I grew up watching his movies back then. Tragic loss.

From TODAY.com:

"He was the best dad," Jennifer tells TODAY.com. "He'd say, 'Don't worry what people think about you. Just be your authentic self.'"

"The other thing about my dad, is that he was the ultimate family guy," she continues. "That's the reason he didn't want to do 'Saturday Night Live'. He knew the lifestyle wasn't going to be healthy for him. He was smart in that way."

Jennifer named her 5-year-old son, Finley John William, after his grandfather.

"He definitely looks like a Candy. He has my dad's hair for sure," Jennifer says, noting that the little boy also resembles his paternal grandfather.

Anniversaries of a loss can be difficult, but Jennifer says she is "feeling strong" today.

"My childhood best friend passed away last month. We grew up together, she knew my dad. And her death triggered me missing my dad," Jennifer says.

Jennifer & Chris today. She's 44 & he's 39 (turns 40 this year). Crazy that Jennifer is now a year older than their father was when he passed.

Aw, his son looks just like him! My favorite movies with him are Delirious and then Cool Runnings. He was funny in Splash too. I was scared of that movie Nothing but Trouble.

I did not realize it was that long ago. I surely thought the early 2000's. I have seen almost all his movies. "Nothing But Trouble" was a good one. 2Pac was in the movie too.

Im gonna add "Only the Lonely" on this one, too! :yesyes
I didn’t like that one because I remember a scene where there was a skeleton or something?? I know it’s a romance but I could have sworn there was like a jump-scare scene with an ugly skeleton head. I had a huge fear of skeletons as a kid; they still kind of freak me out/scare me.

Yeah, it's been a long time. I remember it because the news was everywhere. It felt like there wasn't one publication that wasn't talking about it. They even showed footage of his funeral. I remember Catherine O'Hara did the eulogy & it looked like she was trying to keep it together (he died on her 40th birthday).

My favorite movies of his were Uncle Buck, Splash, Home Alone, Little Shop of Horrors, Planes, Trains and Automobiles annnnnd

It's also too bad he didn't get to play more dramatic roles because he was also good in JFK.

Spitting image! Wow. He had nice energy. Heard he was kind. Definitely part of my childhood as a '90s kid. So sorry they lost him so early.

ETA: Just looked at their profiles, and it just made me so sad to think that he didn't get to see them grow up. You could tell how much he loved them. Almost made me cry just thinking about it. I'm glad they had him for the time that they did, and that they clearly knew they were loved.
