Help identifying British brand pomade

I visited the barber today, who after a bit of chat on products suggested I try an oil based pomade. He styled my hair with something that I quite liked. He told me the name and that it was a British brand, I think with a male name. I thought I'd remember, but of course it slipped my mind. Age.

I didn't see the container, but the pomade itself was pure white and a bit translucent. Having done a bit of searching of images, it reminds me very much of Byrd Classic, so much so that I thought that must be it, until I realised Byrd was an American rather than British brand.

Any ideas?

Nb - I would've bought straight from the shop, but they didn't sell it. (It was a Murdock shop, their pomade is water base (which I have tried) and after our chat, he suggested I instead try an oil based pomade and pulled out the one he uses to let me give it a try.)

Maybe Captain Fawcett Classic Pomade or Strong Pomade?

Aren't those water based? Either way, they look pretty transparent, rather than white with a bit of translucency. So afraid not. :-/

I want to say the first name of the brand he mentioned was something quite common, like James, John, or David. But I could be wrong on that.

If all else fails, I'll try out Green Reuzel in the meantime and ask him the name of the one he used today the next time I see him.
