Long stretch of beach and perfect for a stroll on a cooling day. Quiet on a weekday morning.
There was a sand castle competition with several castles being built.
Walked all the way to the coastal blue train station at Mipo.

The Gamcheon Culture Village, nicknamed the "Machu Picchu of Busan" is a quaint tiny little hamlet built on a steep mountain-side slope, is situated within the Gamcheon-dong district in Busan. This place is one of Busan's heritage sites and is famous worldwide for its convoluted lanes and its maze-like back-alleys. But of course, who could miss those brightly painted postcard picture perfect houses which adorns every Busan tourism brochure? This place is every photographer's dream location, as there are so many worthy places to take photos from different perspectives. If you walk off the beaten path, you will end up somewhere higher up the mountainside, and the view is breathtaking.

Judging by the number of people there, you have to believe that Gwangalli Beach has got to be Busan's second most popular beach in Busan, coming in close after its more slightly better known sibling, Haeundae Beach. This beach is located at the Gwangan district of Busan. One of the most breathtaking sights that greets you is the beautiful and iconic Gwangan Bridge spanning the entire stretch of the beach. Just like Haeundae, Gwangalli's many many lanes and alleys are filled with restaurants, cafes, bars, bistros and coffee places. It's really a treat to get a cup of tea and sit and just watch the world go by. If you happen to be there on a Saturday, then there is an incentive to stay past dinner because of the Gwangalli Marvelous Drone Light Show that happens at 8pm and 10pm. The theme for the show we saw was "Dinosaur" so we had great fun seeing those drones light up in the sky into T-Rex, Triceratops and what not.

We took an Uber to this place from our hotel in the morning and it was not that crowded. Very nice temple by the sea. I think you should try to get here by around 8AM. After 9AM, we saw some large tour buses and a wave of people as we were leaving. Within walking distance is Skyline Luge. If it is not crowded, I would recommend going there too.

    Good day out.
Lots of walking and exercise but followed up with some cakes and drinks!

Lovely scenery in the Geo Park
    Great views from the observeratory.
The cafe is up the stairs and offers some tasty treats as well as a relaxing sit down observing the views.

The light house is a little further on. We only visited the outside as we couldn't handle any more stairs.

There is a little road train that you can get but it was closed ont he daybwe visited.

Outside the Geo Park is a road full of convenience stores, cafes and some touristy games etc.

In the Geo Park there were several toilets signposted along the route. Some of them were a bit off the main road/ path but there were some close to the start and observation deck too.

Bring layers. Even if it's chilly out - it's deceptive, as the walking warms you up and with layers, you can take them off as you go.

The day our tour visited Busan it was pouring! Instead of abbreviating the visit at this memorial, our guide persevered and so we stood outside under our umbrellas and wearing our rain gear for 45 minutes while we traipsed past the memorials. The photos of it in the sunshine look great, but that wasn't our experience. The movie that we watched was very interesting and well-done and brought home how this area gives comfort for those who had troop members who died in the Korean War.

At Jagalchi Market in Busan, I embarked on a daring culinary adventure by trying raw and moving octopus. Though the price was a bit steep, the experience was absolutely worth it. As I felt the tentacles squirm on my tongue, I was transported to a realm of bold flavors and thrilling sensations. For those seeking an unforgettable gastronomic journey in Busan, Jagalchi Market's raw octopus is an experience not to be missed.

We visited BIFF Square twice in December 2023, once during a weekday night and once on a weekend night. During the weekday night, the street stalls were more muted and some were not opened, as there was much less a crowd.

During the weekend, BIFF Square is packed so much so that there were traffic controllers manning the streets, ushering pedestrians off the roads when cars were approaching. There were many shopping options and many street stalls selling local snacks. We tried quite a few of these stalls and the food were generally nice. Definitely worth a visit.

This was also part of our tour package through our cruise line. It's a nice easy walk, some of it uphill, through a nice park with plenty of trees to provide shade on a warm day. There is the APEC house halfway round, which we also visited on the tour. Some great views of the city and beach. Allow around an hour or so for a nice walk.

The Gukje Market encapsulates one word : Massive, with a capital M. From the market's information, we gathered that the entire floor space spans about 6 zones, 12-14 buildings, numerous lanes and alleys, and almost uncountable number of vendors dealing in a diverse array of goods, ranging from machinery tools, kitchenware, dried goods, clothing, the whole kitchen sink. There are also that few traditional restaurants that randomly pop out of nowhere. We found one nestled in between a clothing store and a bags store. Guess urban planning is not much of a science here. Hence, if you are going there for lunch, be prepared to open your eyes because you might just turn a corner and miss that eatery.
