If you like a mystery with lots of interesting characters and no sex, violence or profanity, this book is for you. It's well written and it's not easy to figure out "Who done it". Yes, there's a crime, but nothing graphic or morbid. Just a nice relaxing read.

Loved it! I'm not a usual fan of mysteries, but a friend suggested this and I found it fascinating. Amusing and kept me guessing. I am an avid reader and I thought the writing was strong. Way to go, Ms Crane.

Excruciatingly bad

This book reads as though it was published only online and no editor having gotten within a mile. Yet I was reading a mass market paperback edition. Scene changes occur with no notice. Someone is talking to A, then she's talking to B. The reader is left--huh? On nearly every page, words are italicized, apparently at random. At least the author didn't use bold the same way. (Thank you for that.)

The cover carries a quote purportedly from the "Library Journal" praising this "addictive read." Addictive for sleep, maybe.

I gave up on page 74, 22% of the way through, unable to slough through any more pages. Maybe the book improved after that.
