Bhuvneshwar Kumar created history during Sunrisers Hyderabad's (SRH) two-run victory against Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the 2024 Indian Premier League (IPL) clash at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium, a cricket stadium in Mullanpur, on Tuesday (April 9).
Bhuvneshwar was key to SRH's third victory of the season in the nail-biting clash, which was also their first win of the year away from home. The veteran Indian pacer took two wickets and gave away just 32 runs in four overs. The 34-year-old upstaged Ravichandran Ashwin to become the IPL's fifth-highest wicket-taker in history.
After Pat Cummins produced the big wicket of Jonny Bairstow, Bhuneshwar dismissed Prabhsimran Singh and PBKS skipper Shikhar Dhawan. Dhawan's wicket was a rare one, but some exceptional wicket-keeping from Henrick Klaasen ensured a fantastic stumping.
