I love Bangor but would love to see changes here as well. Place has changed alot since I grew up. Would love to see the housing crisis changes.
I Love Bangor; I moved to Bangor, Maine, at the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020. So all the etremdies and night life experiences where put on pause for a really long time. But now I can walk the quaint streets of down town bangor the tall lengthy buildings cascaded in layers of old brick buildings, bobing and weaving in shadeds of grey, muted blue, off white and burnt red, cafe's pub'sresturants, and coffee shops scattering there way across down town. I love the accesses to the parks off south broadway, that offer free gym equipment, the local walking trails on the back side of Ohio street, and the localized transportation busses that hit all the hot spots in town. Everything is so conveniently packed together and there is always something to do, from art musiems, to local shops, to concerts in the summer time. Bangor is a wonderful place to be, it's practically a sundown town so everything closes around 9-10 o clock, which is also splendid.
Bangor was a good city to grow up in. Lots of activities for kids to participate in. When it came time to get a job as a teenager, there were many opportunities. Rent on apartments are outrageous.
I enjoy going to college in Bangor but there is a lack of things to do outside in the community without going to neighboring towns
Great place to live, other than homeless population taking over the downtown area. I have grown up in bangor for most of my life and it has been a great and safe place to live. In the past 2-4 years we have had a lot of homeless taking over our city. Have even had homeless people set up tents in my backyard 3 times. A great and safe place to live but getting to be more unsafe with more crime.
I was in the process of purchasing a home in Bangor Main at 26 5 Avenue I was staying at a local hotel while in the process of purchasing a home in Bangor Main at 2650 Avenue I was staying at a local hotel the closing was in several days we had a negotiated price of $365,000 which I have in cash at the time and JP Morgan Chase private client several days before the closing the Bangor Maine police came forcibly affected me I believe this to be a punishable act, which I found out is more or less common and most of the people there are thieves, villains, and cutthroats I would not recommend anyone to live in Bangor, Maine, or to visit there for vacation or anything else.
Overall. Watching the community grow together and become more prideful and inclusive over the years is one of the many things I like about Bangor Maine. I like the fact that as a small city, we can celebrate holidays like gay pride and have a parade during black history month. The major thing out of a handful of issues I would change is the homeless population, and how we can't keep our streets clean from trash and discarded paraphernalia.
Bangor has its good and bad parts of the town. There are a few fun things to do and plenty of restraunts to eat at.
Bangor is a small city at this point in 2023, but they have a terrible homeless problem going on and the city is not handling it well.
I currently live in Bangor Maine and I enroll in an online program for graduate student. My girlfriend currently lives in Bangor with me and I feel like it's a great place for anyone to live as long as they enjoy commuting to the places. The community is 5 to 10 minutes with a car in order to reach certain stores or food, but I feel like it's a great opportunity for anyone who enjoys a nice neighborhood.
I have never been to Bangor, but from what I have heard from students, and what I have seen in the city, I decided to study at Bangor.
Beautiful, small city. Usually something going on. Nice forest trails and parks. Lots of live music and shows. Great food and beer culture.
But there's a growing homeless problem because of the job market and the refusal of this country to take mental health and substance abuse seriously.

If you’re looking for a more quiet city with friendly people this is a nice place. You don’t need to worry about theft or violence. However, there are a lot of homeless people and the winter in Maine isn’t forgiving; I would like to see the homeless being taken care of more.
Beautiful city with a lot of history with potential to greatly expand! Like anywhere, we have our bad apples, but over all, it's not a bad place and most people are extremally friendly :)
It’s a beautiful city with small town feel, close to the great outdoors and not far to the ocean blah blah blah blah
Bangor is a small place. Because of this, it has its downside just as any where does. However, with the small population there is a sense of community that you don’t get in large cities. There are local traditions and celebrations that make everyone feel welcome. For example, every New Year’s Eve in downtown Bangor, Paddy Murphy’s (the local pub) throws a lit up beach ball off of their roof at midnight! It may seem silly, but about half of Bangor comes just to see it.
Bangor is big enough to meet new people and small enough to run into someone you know.
