The timekeepers of the “The Garden of Time” at the Met Gala 2024

Celebrities brought their fashion A-game to the 2024 Met Gala, as they did an immaculate watch game; and how could the timepieces not stand out in “The Garden of Time.” Here’s your guide to the Met Gala 2024 Watch Collection.

Fashion’s biggest moment of the year – the Met Gala was themed “The Garden of Time,” after a 1962 short story by J.G. Ballard that had also inspired designer Thom Browne’s 2021 collection earlier. With dramatized outfits, eccentric dos and a designer gala, the fashion at the 2024 Met Gala was like always a sight to behold; keeping in tandem with the theme so were the watches. From multiple designer watches to the theme quite literally being brought to life on garments and accessories: time took centre stage.

Here are all the timepieces we spotted on the “The Garden of Time” timekeepers at the Met Gala 2024.

Chris Hemsworth wearing a Chopard Alpine Eagle

Chris Hemsworth

A Tomford suit paired with a Chopard Alpine Eagle?  It doesn’t get more 80’s Miami than that; you best expect the Met Gala chair to be on top of both his fashion and watch game! Chris Hemsworth looked every bit a Hollywood heartthrob on the red carpet.

Barry Keoghan wearing an Omega Trifecta

Barry Keoghan

One can never have too many watches in ‘The Garden of Time,’ Barry Keoghan would agree as the actor sported not one, not two, but three Omega watches including a rare stainless ‘Staybrite’ steel dress pocket watch, produced in the early ’30s.

Alexandra Daddario wearing a TAG Heuer Aquaracer

Alexandra Daddario looked stunning in a see-through Dior dress paired with a serpentine tiara. The actress added a touch of elegance with a slim TAG Heuer Aquaracer on her wrist.

Nicholas Galitzine wearing a TAG Heuer Carrera 60th Anniversary

Nicholas Galitzine

The media’s newest boy crush, Nicholas Galitzine was dressed quite sharply in a Fendi tux on the Met Gala red carpet. ‘The Idea of You’ star also wore the 60th Anniversary rendition of the classy silver-and-black Carrera.

Dwayne Wade wearing a Cartier Santos de Cartier

It wasn’t just actors and musicians making moments on the red carpet. Take NBA Hall of Fame, Dwyane Wade, who was dressed chicly in Versace lilac. The basketballer is also known for his pulse on luxury watches which was quite apparent in his choice of Cartier Santos de Cartier at the Met Gala.

Serena Williams wearing an Audemars Piguet Sandgold Royal Oak Flying Tourbillon Openworked

Serena Williams stepped away from the recently trending Tennis core and opted for a Balenciaga gown instead. The tennis legend’s choice of the Openworked Audemars Piguet Sandgold Royal Oak Flying Tourbillon also caught eyeballs as a standout piece on her wrist.

Ben Simmons wearing a Patek Philippe Aquanaut and Thom Browne briefcase

Dressed head to toe in Thom Browne, NBA forward, Ben Simmons made quite the impression in his Mad Hatter-esque ensemble. While the star had a relatively slow season on the court, he seems to be on his fashion A-game of the court. Taking the theme quite literally he sported a clock briefcase along with a multi gem-set Patek Philippe.

Usher wearing a Jacob & Co Ruby Billionaire

Usher’s striking pink Jacob & Co Ruby Billionaire quite like the name suggests is adorned with 714 pristine rubies totalling 147.65 carats, set in 18K white gold and worth a whopping $5,00,000. Talk about extravagant! The pop star was also on top of his fashion game in a sinister Custom-Made Alexander Mcqueen ensemble by Sean Mcgirr.

Lil Nas X wearing a 1970s Vintage Piaget from Analog: Shift

Vintage Piaget and Lil Naz X glam – an iconic combo nails included. The pop stars and musicians took the cake at the Met Gala this time and Lil Naz X’s iconic outfit with the subtle 1970s Vintage Piaget from Analog: Shift band is the perfect example.

Omar Apollo wearing a Cartier Crash

The hottest watch of the season, the Cartier Crash is reminiscent of Cartier’s artisanal watchmaking with an oval dial. Musician Omar Apollo looked dapper with the thin band-like watch on his wrist. Other stars like Sebastian Stan were also seen wearing the timepiece.

Tyla wearing a Balmain hourglass

Breakout musician and African idol, Tyla was a sight for sore eyes- as the singer embodied the theme of ‘Sands of time’. Balmain’s sandy body suit said, she also carried a literal hourglass with sand to tell the time, as antiquated as this time-keeping device might seem. An outfit worth being carried up the stairs for.
