- Legallyred87Trumbull, CT7 contributionsLots to do! So much fun for kiddos! The exotic animal house was very cool and the woman working the house even took animals out and let my son touch them and answered any questions we had!Written March 17, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Maria SRiverside, CT1 contributionI took a bunch of friends to see Spelling Bee in the cabaret theater, and we were all blown away by the quality of the talent, music and production overall. - RosieW3 contributionsGreat park with a variety of areas that hug the shoreline.
Great for strollers, walkers, runners and dog walkers. They also have a few beaches. One that drops into Holly Pond (which is otherwise not accessible to the public).Written June 23, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We saw the Buddy Holly Story there in November 2022. The disability headphones worked perfectly and the sound was crystal clear. I wish it weren't so far away from my home, or I would be there on a regular basis. They have a nice variety of entertainment from plays to concerts.Written December 16, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Pick a beautiful day and have a picnic for an hour or soWritten June 30, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Its modern architecture makes it a historic landmark. Inside the sanctuary the stained glass creates a gorgeous wreath of color that surrounds the congregation. The silver and gold colors of the modern organ make a beautiful focal point in the sanctuary. (Currently one side of the pews are closed due to repair of the glass.) Even on a cloudy day the effect was striking.Written May 3, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- tms215Philadelphia, PA631 contributionsThis is so cool! They are in a popup tent for the winter with couches, games, food truck grub, AND toddlers! There are a bunch of guys babysitting while there wives are shopping /traveling who are playing with their kids while sipping beer with their friends. They aren't getting drunk, just hanging out. It is safe, comfortable, and the beer is excellent. They also have wine if that is your thing. Bathrooms are in a clean trailer within 50 feet.Written December 17, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Kate R.Brooklyn, NY136 contributionsWe came specifically to see the inside of this Church but there is no way to park there.
Very sorry. It's huge from outside and looks very beautiful but we weren't lucky to get inside.Written August 16, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Located right off of Merritt Parkway (Route 15). Lots of food options nearby along High Ridge Road.
There is a large parking lot close to the main area nearby the visitor's/welcome center. There is also a smaller space which accommodates about 5-6 vehicles as soon as you enter...this eaves you closer to the pond trail.
Lots of walking paths on the well-maintained grounds. There are garden areas throughout .... be sure to take a photo of the map and/or follow the signs to explore each area.
Bring comfortable and hike-ready footwear...especially if you plan on walking on some of the trails.
The few staff members I encountered were very friendly and helpful.Written May 29, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews. - Teddy W3 contributionsThis is a hidden gem. It’s a natural beauty that is not only beautiful but it is also awesomely peaceful. Situated between Stamford and Greenwich in Connecticut, it is a short run from the New York border. The trails are well marked so there is no fear of getting lost while you walk with nature surrounding you. Bring a blanket, lunch and water to enjoy anywhere along your journey. The only requirement, which should be a natural for anyone, is that you don’t leave anything behind…that’s why this place maintains its natural beauty. Great walk on sunny days since the Forrest trees provides more than adequate shade from the sun. No need for sun screen… nature provides it. The river provides the relaxing environmental sounds that relaxes the mind as you enjoy the trails. It is the perfect place for peace and tranquility.Written May 29, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Wrestling1Ridgefield, CT6 contributionsThis is the best kept secret in Connecticut and I strongly encourage a visit! I visited on May 5th and was treated to a 1.5 hour personal tour by Taras Galonzka. In our conversations we learned that his parents and my grandparents were from the same area of eastern Galicia which became part of western Ukraine. The museum, originally built in 1833, is beautiful inside and out. They have rooms full of Ukrainian art, manuscripts, attire, pysanka, furniture, wood carvings, musical folk instruments, etc. Many pieces of art are from the 12th and 13th century. They have several manuscripts that pre-date the printing press by a couple hundred years.
Their days and hours of operation are limited and a bit erratic, so call ahead. They hope to open more days and for longer periods of time shortly. Their website is not updated regularly but does have additional information.Written May 6, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
