Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- Jynni W3 contributionsIf you go to Stratford upon Avon and something is on at the Attic Theatre. Please go. The company Tread the Boards has always delivered brilliant shows whether serious Dracula or hysterically funny The Three Musketeers. Even their Panto was stupidly funnily traditionally done!Written 8 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Robert275Brackley, UK122 contributionsWe attended a performance of Shakespeare's Loves Labours Lost. The theatre is very good with excellent sightlines and acoustics. The acting and staging was world class.Written 18 May 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- wendy sNewcastle upon Tyne, UK65 contributionsA fascinating museum of cleverly constructed moving exhibits and an interesting film to watch in the museum cinema. - jephina10 contributionsAn enchanting place to visit..from start to finish this was a highlight of my holiday..
The added attraction of carp, iguanas, and the enormous ant trail (don't forget to look up) was fascinating..

However, you can’t miss it as it’s a large building and well signposted. Very historic.Written 18 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Quiet_n_WarmBristol, UK157 contributionsWe were lucky, the weather was really nice, we visited on a ‘non bank holiday’ so people were at work or at school so there were no crowds. We decided to walk from the town centre and that was a nice part of the experience. It didn’t take long to get there (25 mins) and it was a part of the experience, leaving the town and walking out into the countryside.
Everything about the cottage has been maintained to the highest standards by the Trust. Their staff are an absolute credit, the grounds so welcoming and an absolute delight. Like many, we purchased the Shakespeare Story ticket which means we can return within 12 months and we will. Just have to see if we can get lucky again with the weather and avoiding the crowds.Written 16 May 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. This was the first place we visited during our trip and we were really glad we came. It was clean, tidy, plenty of ‘facilities’ if required. Yes there was a queue to get into the house but why wouldn’t you expect that?
For us it was about the history and the story of the man and it served its purpose. Right in the heart of the town, it helped to get our visit off to the perfect start. Having a ‘timed’ appointment also worked as it ensured smooth and hassle free access on the day.Written 16 May 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Plenty of refreshment facilities.
Love the non gender specific toilets , very modern and clean.
The theatre is a very interesting multiple height venue with very comfortable seats , which are quite large and well spaced out.
We went to see "Buddha of Suburbia " what a brilliant play/musical/story , the cast were incredible , one of the best evenings I have had for a long time.Written 30 April 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Stuart G8 contributionsSo pleased to see Mary Arden’s open again! It was quieter than I recall but the staff were still super friendly and engaging (particularly with children). Additional to the animals there was archery, story telling , Willow making and a relaxed tour of the house.
