DC batter Jake Fraser-McGurk revealed his fun-filled bond with teammate and senior Australian team member David Warner. The youngster revealed how the experienced batter seems more like an Indian than an Australian. In DC's recent podcast, Fraser-McGurk and his other teammate Tristan Stubbs talked about their experience of playing in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024, and how their teammates, especially Warner, have helped them settle into the fast-paced nature of the tournament. The 22-year-old Fraser-McGurk has taken the ongoing IPL season by storm with his explosive batting skills since his debut for DC in their clash against LSG on April 12, which saw him hit a match-winning 55 off 35 balls knock.

On the other hand, Warner has not had the best of shifts with DC in IPL 2024, which has seen the batter only manage 167 runs in his 7 appearances so far. A string of dismal performances has seen the veteran batter lose his spot in the DC lineup due to an injury, with Fraser-McGurk taking over his opener role in the side alongside Prithvi Shaw. Despite this, Warner was named in Australia's 2024 T20 World Cup squad over Fraser-McGurk, which would also be the former's last T20I tournament before completing his retirement from all formats of cricket.

Speaking on the podcast, Fraser-McGurk revealed how Warner has been increasingly helpful towards him and played a huge role in welcoming him to his debut IPL season.

"He (David) is one of the most unselfish people I've ever met. He always has time for everyone. He wants to help you 24/7. Every hotel he's always been like two rooms away from me. I just go into his room and have coffee every morning," Fraser-McGurk said.

"He's more Indian than Australian. That's what I tell him. I say that. I say he's 70% Indian, 30% Australian." McGurk added.

Having played in IPL for 14 years, Warner is by far the most successful overseas batter to have played in the competition, which has even seen him grab hold of the position of the third-highest run-scorer in its entire history. The 37-year-old has 6564 runs in his 183 IPL matches, and has also won the IPL trophy as the SRH skipper in 2016.

Fraser-McGurk's sensational batting has seen him equal his own record for hitting the fastest half-century in IPL 2024 within just 15 balls into his 65 off 18 balls knock against SRH on April 20, followed by his 27 balls 84 against MI on April 27. The youngster will yet again be in focus for DC's crucial upcoming fixture against RR on May 7, while Warner's involvement in that much is still in the dark.
